at work iv started drinking soda water with my squash because i thought it was better for my teeth than the fizzy stuff an it was a bit more exciting than plain water. people have since told me soda is also bad fo r my teeth!

Acid attacks your teeth.

No, it is not "as bad" as sugary sodas, but any carbonated drink will damage your teeth if consumed in large enough quantities. The reason they are not as "bad," is because the sugar feeds bacteria, which as a result of metabolising the sugar, expels acids.
