Mormonism Summary:

Is Mormonism Christian?:
Mormons deny the following statement: There is ONE God who eternally exists in three different persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, all of whom are fully God, all of whom are equal. That denial alone is enough to assert that Mormons are not Christians. There are many more Mormon doctrines that are contrary to Christian beliefs, e.g., that we existed as spirit beings before we were born on this earth or that God’s final revelation given to the forty authors of the bible is incomplete and needed Joseph Smith’s Book of Mormon. Either a few million Mormons are Christians and the billion plus Christians are not, or Mormonism is a heretical system of beliefs. No single orthodox Christian denomination recognizes Mormonism as a Christian belief system. See also: http://www.carm.org/lds/lds_christian.htm

There are many members of heretical religious groups that have staked their eternal souls on their beliefs without searching the scriptures and reviewing the doctrinal writings of church leaders to satisfy themselves that what they have been told is sufficiently rational and worth believing. Don’t let yourself be one of these persons. Mormons must ask their stake and ward leadership about the things that they have read above. Observe if these leaders are willing to enter into an honest and frank discussion about these matters versus telling them to avoid readings outside of your own faith. If they do the latter, such a dismissal of honest inquiry should be an alarm bell.

The Mormon Bible consists of different parts. I am not a Mormon but I have read the Mormon Bible . It's a very interesting, historical aspect of the Mormon faith.
They have the same parts like
1.)Old Testament and New Testament
2.) Pearl of Great Price
3.) Covenants & regulation of faith if I remember the correct word.
So somewhat they have the parts that have been left out of the Christian Bible. As a matter of fact, they confirm that they suppose to have th e complete Bible .

First, like others have stated, Mormons use the King James Version of the Bible, similar to many Christian denominations. Therefore, their Bible is no different than many Christian Bibles.
Second, Mormons do have additional scriptures they use, including the Book of Mormon. These scriptures to not contradict, take away, or add to the Bible (so they believe), but provide another witness of Christ and his teachings. They also believe that the word of God should not be added to by man (but believe that prophets continue to reveal the word of God, similar to the Old Testament).
Whether or not it is believed these additional scriptures adds to or differs from the Bible is open to individual interpretation, but the Church itself doesn't think so, and that is what's important. Religion is faith based and individual. You cannot prove a religion by facts or evidence, but must do so my study and prayer.

The Mormons use the King James bible. The Mormon Bible is called the Inspired Version and it is severely rewritten by Joseph Smith. Look at John 1:1 and see what I mean!

The Book of Mormon is not the mormon bible. We have a bible we use the KJV. The Book of Mormon is a different book that also testify's of Christ. We use both but they are seperate books.
Be careful when reading some of the answers they are far from the truth what we really believe. To really get truthful answers you need to ask a member or vist the official church web page. www.lds.org.

Mormons are "Holy Bible Christians" as well. They believe in the Holy Bible. Baptists tend to believe that they are saved no matter what they do. Mormons believe that they are saved by the grace of Jesus Christ after they've done what they can do. Neither group believes that they can save themselves. I think the biggest differences come in the form of the apostasy, prophets, the priesthood, and revelation. The one you're pointing out is relatively minor. After all, most baptists believe that you have to asked to be saved. Isn't asking a "work"???

I am a Mormon, and the bible we use is the same bible other Christian denominations use: the King James Version. We do have another book called The Book of Mormon, which we believe to be another testament of Jesus Christ. For more information on what we consider to be scripture, visit lds.org or mormon.org. Please be careful when reading some of these answers, because many of them are misguided.

There is no difference. Actually, there's no such thing as a "Mormon Bible". The Bible that LDS (Mormons) follow is the King James one, which is the same Bible that all other Christian denominations use.

Yes, we believe the King James Version is the most correct translation of the Bible. In addition, we have a great many more footnotes and cross-references than your average Bible, some of which refer to the Joseph Smith Translation. However, all of these additions/alterations by Joseph Smith are NOT added into the text of the Bible (ie they are in the footnotes or in a section in the back of our Bibles)... so if there is a change, we are well aware of where those changes are. I have found that the JST footnotes add a lot of clarity to some of the more confusing scriptures in the Bible.
The first answerer is right.

The "Mormon" bible is just the same as everyone elses King James Version Bible.
If you're refering to the book of Mormon, this is not a replacement of the bible. It's another testament of Jesus Christ and it compliments the bible.
