I am sure that there are many other categories that might suit you. IF you want to suggest to me that as an atheist or agnostic that you are living a spiritual life, then you should not be in forums to insult religions or nationalities. Please petition Yahoo for an appropriate category for an anti-GOD chat, so that you may rant away. Then you will not have to be offended when people dislike your answers.
I find the insensitivity to others rather distasteful. Does anyone else?

I am glad to see the extent of comments that again have nothing to do with the quesion, and the comments that suggest the rude answers are acceptable shows that no, I don't need to go to church....but that I should be able to expect reasonable responses...and you have shown that to be impossible for most of you to do.

I would miss the Atheists if they went away. It is (in part), my discussions with Atheists in this venue that keep me in the word of God. As long as Atheists are interacting with us Christians, we have the opportunity to share the Good News of the gospel.

Please don't petition for the Atheists to go away. If you get your feelings hurt when they call us "small-minded robots", think of the missionaries who are tortured and beheaded for sharing their faith.

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Mark 16:15-16

I gave up expecting not to get curses in answers and some extremely rude comments, but you have to expect that from people. I do find the insults to nationalities to be far more offensive than the comments about religions. People all can disagree on religions, but if you want to get any changes made in the world, you have to be able to overcome racial differences and bias. Hopefully, even with some of the comments, perhaps some good can come of it.

Obviously if someone is here, they care about the subject, why shouild it matter what they personally believe and how immersed they are in the subject actively?... If I don't know much about cars should I be forbidden from the automotive section if they interest me in some way?... Would the answer be any different if I told you they only interested me because in my viewpoint we should stop using them and they're destroying the earth?...

There are many good questions honestly trying to figure out the thought processes of others from people of all beliefs and viewpoints, there are of course trolls, like this and the atheist equivelant... What would be the point in even having a question/answer section if it was only for people that "knew"/believed the same things?

Anyone offended, on either side, has offered the offender that power over them, really, it seems like a rather silly thing to do.

If you're looking for a place to go where everyone shares your beliefs and agrees with you all the time, then there's plenty of religion-specific chat rooms out there.
Atheists come on here because this is a forum to discuss religion and spirituality as a subject. Religion affects atheists' lives, too. It affects our lives very strongly. If we didn't have religion in our faces every time we turned around, we wouldn't feel the need to be here discussing it.

You still can't accept that this forum is shared by people you disagree with, can you? That's a typical fascist/christian reaction. Can't stand diversity and hate free-thinkers. Well, guess what? We've got just as much right to be here as you. This is a public forum and public means everyone, even atheists. Considering that this anonymous forum is the only place where atheists may criticize religion without fear of retribution, and considering there are hundreds of "Christian Only" websites all over the web, why don't you take your own advice and go find someplace more to your liking? As far as I'm concerned, you're welcome to stay and enter the debate. On the other hand, if you really can't stand the heat, it might be time for YOU to get out of this kitchen.

Are you offended when people dislike your answers? Do you know that Christians visit other categories on YA such as Biology, Lesbian and Gay, Astronomy & Space and others and answer questions about those subjects with religious dogma and threats of damnation and hellfire? I would definitely call that kind of thing "insensitivity", wouldn't you?

I don't know if everyone understand that all questions on this board appear under the"All Categories" board and the Society & Culutre" board which R & s is a subboard of. Actually when I first got into this. I was under All categories then noticed underlining somes questions "Religion and Spiritualty" and began to investigate.
So people asking questions or answering might not be specifically under this board when they do.

I am an activist atheist. I am here because I think Religion (but not Spirituality) has screwed up the Society & Culture I live in, and I want to do something about it.

I prefer gentle persuasion over antagonism, but I won't stand idly by while bigots continue to reinforce their delusions of moral superiority because they believe 3000 year old myths are true.

By the way, did you notice while writing your post that you were trying to offend others who have every right to be here? What gives you the right to use offensive speech and not others?

Yes I find your insensitivity very distasteful. One of the things that makes Y!A so great is that there are so many opinions. Sure your not going to agree with everyone. But who are you to decide where people should go. The Bible Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Conformed means to be similar to. And you are acting exactly as the world is acting. My way is right and if you don't agree you don't deserve what I do. You can never convince people that way. You have to prove God's will by acting it yourself. I don't know what religion you are. I don't know what you believe. By this question I don't think I want to know.

Atheism is a religion in that it is a belief system. So why wouldn't Atheists post in the R&S category? You must be offended by the answers of Atheists rather than vice versa; otherwise, why would you ask such a ridiculous question?
