Microwave ovens have near unity power factor. This means you can simply take the wattage of the microwave oven and divide by the voltage.

1200 watts ÷ 120 volts = 10 amps.

Microwave oven:
1000 Watts (typical) = 8.3 amps at 120 Volts AC -- half that at 240 Volts AC

a tipical microwave use about 700-1200Watts, it depends of the cubic space, the bigger the microwave is, the more current it needs to heat the food.

of course if we need the microwave for heat our launches we only need a small microwave, 0.7' its ok and it take less power than the conventional oven.
