usually when i have to bathe my cats i close the bathroom door and get a shampoo that's made for them i fill the tub up just a little with warm water. usually i have my husband help by having a cup ready. i grab their four feet in my hand and try to as gently as i can lay them in the water and then put the shampoo on. with someones help scrub away and get all the gunky stuff off and then rinse them with a cup. after that wrap them securely in a towel and rub them as much as possible them let them run lol. they will lick themselves dry

Go to the pet store and buy pet shampoo, anything else will dry out your cats skin. Be very well prepared before you stick the cat in the bath. Draw a warm bath (with a couple of inches of water). Get towels, at least 2, for drying and put them beside the bathtub. Make sure to have a rag handy to wash the cat with and that the shampoo is nearby. If your cat has never been bathed you will probably want to trim their nails beforehand and wear long sleeves. We keep one hand on the cats neck (by the scruff) at all times. Don't take your hand off! If you do your cat will get out of the tub. Wash as quickly as you can and rinse thoroughly (we never wash the head because we don't want to get water in their eyes/ears). Dry the cat off as much as possible with the towels before you let them out of the bathroom and make sure your house isn't to cold, you don't want them to get sick afterwards! Good luck!

With great difficulty.
The only time I tried this my cat ended up on the ceiling. Yes the CEILING, he clung there like the tub of water was his mortal enemy, a very interesting sight that was, watching him run up a smooth tiled bath tub wall.
Do not listen to guy who said to knock him out with a sleeping pill, you can actually casue heart murmurs with cats becasue they are so small and it is easy to give too much.
I would say your best bet is to get a bowl of warm water and a soft clothe, get your cat in a purry mood and then gently wipe at the spot, if it's oil based the warm water should help thin it. Sometimes my cat gets motor oil in his fur, I found the best way to get rid of that is to sprinkle some flour onto the fur to absorb the oil and then comb it out.

There is dry bath in a can that can be used. You spray it on and brush it out. But if tabby will not let you look at it now, this could be a problem. Some cats like swimming and you can trick them into a bath that way. GOOD LUCK!

go to the store. and in the pet section they should have these little packets that are like baby wipes only thicker and it's so you can wash your cat or dog without using water. if you get the ones that say microwavable on them you can either use them right out of the package or you can warm it up. it has soap on it that you don't need to wash out. and it smells really good. and it's not expensive. I use it on my cats all the time and they don't mind it. it helps to brush them afterwards as well.
Hope I helped. good luck!

get cat shampoo form the same place you get food and toys.
if your cat has claws trim them first or have sracted up arms
take cat to bathroom or laundry room and close door to prevent a wet cat from running around.
get the water warm and get cat wet. rub in shampoo and rinse off. have towel handy to start drying off cat.

Cats are normally very clean animals so I would just try sponging him off. Puting him in a tub will dry his skin.

Put some Rohypnol in his food...he should be out long enough for you to scrub him clean.
