And the tempature was well above 100 degrees. You had no water. No shade. Nothing to eat. BUT you had a bible.

What kind of state would you be in? (not state as in America either, you know what I mean!)

I would be sweating profusely, very thirsty, trying to find shade by moving somewhere else and would be hungry.

Then I would begin to talk to the one person who could hear me out there without my cell phone - God! I would let Him know the situation, and ask Him to provide the solution. He is certainly more than able to take care of little ole me!

I would expect He would work in mysterious ways to bring about my deliverance, and it would give me a great testimony to share with others! If I had a pen with me I would make sure to take notes so I wouldn't forget any of this great adventure.
I would put the notes in those pages reserved in my Bible for notes.

Of course it would be great if He just took me home to be with Him where there is no more lack of anything and the atmosphere is always right. I could run around Heaven bragging on HIm! Either way I would have a great testimony to bless others with and one more way to glorify, honor and praise my King. I would be in a state of anticipation in both cases! Whoopee!

I would be in severe danger of dehydration. Shelter must be found during daylight hours, or made.

If this is a dune-style desert, I might be able to find some shade by digging down a bit into the sand for awhile. I could use the Bible to whack scorpions with, for they are edible!

Few deserts are completely empty and flat. Plants can be found and harvested for water/food/shelter. Insects can be eaten. The Bible would provide some form of mental consolation during the wait for, or search for, rescue. The cover can be used for water/food collection (they are usually made of leather, pretty durable stuff), and excess pages can be used to start a fire as needed.

State? In trouble certainly, but I would not quit until I was found, or died.

I lived in the desert for three years, and I can tell you that if my blonde haired, blue-eyed self was stuck in the desert with no shade... and just a bible? I'd be miserable.. and after a day or so I'd be a big blister, and close to death. I think I'd have to turn all McGuyver, find some way of turning the pages of the book into a big floppy sunscreen, and start walking.

Id be hot, hungry and thirsty - but Id have some toilet paper on hand in case anything came up...

Honestly, whats a Bible gonna do for you when youre dying of dehydration? Turn into a glass of wine? (which, for the record, would further dehydrate you!)

I would pray for help to come. And I would sit down and read the Psalms until help came or I died.
