look on the web any that say vista ready---yahoo messenger-aol-office 2007-limewire-dvdshrink-inter video-winrar- micro trend security- nero- divx all work on 64bit and 32bit vista systems... also since vista was built on windows backbone , about 90 % of your xp stuff will work on vista----as long as the systems are the same type 32bit/64bit. I know this works cause ive done it. try to install the program vista will tell you if its possible or not ..

If there is a program you want to use check the website for it. This should have information on whether it works on vista.

I have found very few programs I have been unable to use on vista most of the time you can right click on the program choose properties and run it in compatibility mode for XP. Failing that some programs may need to be run as administrator. This can be set from the compatibility tab in properties or by right clicking and choosing run as administrator.
