Why are there so many misunderstandings between sects. i see mud slinging from christians to eachother. it's sad that you christians can't even agree on what the gospels say. How can you believe your religion is true when you have other people following the same bible but you think they are completely wrong.

Modern day Christian doctrine rests upon the premise that God preserved the Bible in an absolute infallible and pure state, in order that all men should know the (historical) truth and believe in the Son of God. Their doctrinal position is that if God permitted the Bible to have been altered, then the present day church could not be genuine.

Based upon this dogmatic presumption that the Christian Church must be maintained in order for man to be saved, they reason that God would not allow the written word of the scriptures to be corrupted. Thus, modern Christians cling to this doctrine -- ignoring overwhelming evidence to the contrary -- evidence that demonstrates conclusively that our Bible has been severely altered and edited -- because they fail to grasp the very foundational principles of the New Covenant itself -- principles that are not historical, but spiritual.

It is not until we understand that the Bible is a road-map that leads us to the Gate of the Kingdom, and the Word that is written in our hearts -- rather than a final revelation from God to man -- that we are able to even begin to come to terms with the Spiritual Gospel of Christ that can never be corrupted.

When directly confronted with the overwhelming evidence and facts with respect to the wholesale corruption of the scriptures, the fundamentalist defensively responds with the rather absurd assertion that "God wrote the King James Version of the Bible". Thus, no amount of rationale will convince them that because we are the prodigal sons of our Heavenly Father, and the Kingdom is within us (Luke 17:21), that all those who truly live a consecrated life will be shown the undefiled Word of God that can be accessed by journeying along the narrow path that opens the "strait gate" that leads to the indwelling Temple (1 Cor 3:16).

The great truth which the modern Christian fails to comprehend is that, even in its corrupted form, the Bible as it has been passed down to us is sufficient to manifest the Living Word of God in the life of the individual believer.

One only has to open the New Testament to almost any page to find the message: If the believer consecrates their lives -- becomes teachable by releasing their minds from an adherence to the doctrines of men -- forgive all and judge no one -- live a simple life that is unencumbered -- do no harm to any of God’s creatures -- and seek in solitude the companionship of the Lord in the inner Temple -- that the Holy Spirit will Anoint and Teach you all the Mysteries of God as the believer begins the journey home to the Kingdom.

If the believer begins to live the consecrated Christian life -- free of the thinking and entanglements of this world -- then the indwelling Word will reveal all things to those who are sincere in their search for the Truth.

The Bible is both fallible and imperfect. And boring too!

The reason that there are so many sects is because there is so much disagreement about what the theology should be, e.g. the divinity of Jesus. The Bible never mentions the Trinity, but the majority of Christians believe in the Trinity because it is the only *illogical* way to reconcile Jesus being God and also being separate from God in a monotheistic religion.

Although, having disagreements isn't always bad. That's why we have different schools of thought in other aspects too, such as sociology, politics and philosophy. However, when there are disagreements in theology, it shows the religion's weakness.

That's a big if. We know it's NOT perfect because a whole lot of people all throughout history have been tampering with it!

They have removed sections. They have re-written sections to further their own ideas and agendas. They have added new sections that they thought were improvements on the original.

How can anyone REALLY think the bible is authoritative??

It's got some good stuff in there. It's mostly interesting. A bit dense in some parts, but come ON! Pull your heads out!!

I believe that the Bible is perfect in the sense that it is inerrant and infallible. That means it in its original form, the Bible is without error and that what the scriptures say regarding matters of faith and Christian practice are wholly useful and true. It does not mean that there are no grammatical or transcription errors.

The things different denominations argue and fight about are things that are considered traditions vs. Traditions, folklore and tabloid matters.

The core orthodoxy of Christianity is pretty much agreed to by all Christian sects; that is Jesus Christ lived a sinless live, died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day which provide Salvation for all mankind if they accept Christ. This is why LDS and JW’s, who call themselves Christian, are in fact NOT; because they do not agree to that basic statement of orthodoxy.

The bible is just a book. 10 people could read any book and interpret it in 10 different ways. Religion is not the problem, people's (mis)interpretations of its writings is the problem.

Given human nature though, the world would be a much more peaceful place if there was no religion at all. Religion is divisive.

Does not mean the bible is not the truth- it is indeed infallible.

Many do not agree on interpretation of scripture, yes, that is why there are so many divisions among the church. BUT you will see that every born again christian DOES agree with the gospel of Jesus Christ- which is most important. There are small issues that do not effect your salvation like calvanism and armenism, and pre trib, post trib, and mid trib---many have different views on these matters, but that does not affect your salvation, therefore some things are just NOT meant to be debated, but it would be a waste of time to do so. It is the Holy Spirit who leads us into all truth- when we are seeking the LORD in prayer and word. We must always remember to not lean on our own understanding, but on HIS, and to listen to what He has to say. We should always trust the Lord in everything. Proverbs 3:5-6 are awesome scriptures to always remember.

I see ur point...but there true christian that actually read the bible and don't believe what the preachers says all time. They study the bible and find out whats God true meaning.

People who misunderstand the bible most of the time don't even take the time to read and figure out why the other person feels this way.

To me the Bible is made up of people's lifes, just like if you were going to write about things that have happened to you in your life. The Bible is also like a text book and can teach you alot about tons of things. My opinion....is if you see other people who are "supposidly" following the same Bible as you but you disagree with them, how do you know that they are right, maybe there not, maybe you understand better than they do and that's why you see them as being wrong. Remember something about church in "all " the religions....people, just people like you and me make up the church. There's alot of hypocrits that go to church. And as you have heard these past years even these so-called men of God, ministers and preachers fall far from Gods grace, yet they run alot of the churches don't they. The Bible is a book not only about faith but about you and me, all of us it's a guide. Even though the stories in it are as old as they are the Bible is timeless. I hope this answered something. MLJ

Not all Christians adhere to what the bible says therefore you believe this problem to exist among them. In reality Jesus the founder of Christianity rejected those religious rulers in his day. Likewise today many who claim Christianity are not. But they make up their own ideas as to what the bible says to fit their own beliefs and they have even gone as far to change what the bible has said literally. .

The Bible is not perfect. It can't even agree with itself about the year of Jesus' birth!

It claims that rabbits are ruminants. That bats are birds. And a whole host of things besides.

Therefore it is not perfect. Therefore it is not infallible.

Therefore it cannot be trusted.
