I have a four year old too and he is very active. I keep a soccer ball, t-ball, and other fun stuff in the trunk of my car so whenever we feel like it we can run out and go to a park. As for home I have a craft box that just has tons of stuff in it he can play with or destroy (as he sees fit!) whenever he gets an idea. (course he has to clean up afterward!). Good luck

Take him/her outside and play with the child don't stick the child in front of a computer or the TV. Bake some muffins or make some play dough together much more fun then being stuck in front of a computer and the child will actually be learning as well!

At Kmart or Target, they have these small educational workbooks for the child to do. Ther are fairly inexpensive and a fun thing to do with the child. They start off with easy things like coloring, cutting with scissors, ect. By you getting involved with their learning, you teach them that learning is fun even for moms and dads. I did this with my son (who is now in the 4th grade), and I belive it set him on the right course and still enjoys school.
Also if you go to a bookstore (Barnes and Nobles, Borders) you can find scienc books are just reading books ..the library is a fun place to let your child pick put books for themselves and to read together.
Have fun!!!
P.S.. pbs.com is a fun place too to visit !!

It's funny how people jump all over you as if you are going to park the child there for 12 hours a day. LOL. I always liked the PBS and NickJr web sites. They are cute and sure you learn stuff.

more and more children are becoming obese these days....Why? because they are spending too much time in front of the computer, tv, and playing video games.....take her outside and play with her..throw a frisbee or ball... that way she can get some exercise and so can u...and it would be a great bonding experience...get her a bike....just dont turn her into a fat kid that will have a hard time in school and heart problems......
Computers are very important in life and she does need to learn to use them...but shes too young...wait a year or two

If this is actually true, you call the police - it is assault. I'm not sure I believe you, though. A teacher would have to be _insane_ to assault a child in front of 30 witnesses. "the principal dismissed it when I came in" Now I know you are lying. Go away.

When my daughter was that age, she wanted computer time, just like me. I had a pooh reading game for her. She loved it and learned at the same time. There is a pooh corner on the web. It is http://disney.go.com/mousehousejr/poohcorner.html or just type in reading with pooh into your search engine.

pbskids.com or nickjr.com, some people will critize parents who allow their children to interact with the web but they can screww off, because it is very educational, my children learn alot from that, so take my advice and don't let anyone say ****!!
