I would have to disagree. Although, yes some of New Zealanders do swear, I have lived in Australia and experienced it to be much worse.

I don't think New Zealanders find the F word to be rude as such. It has just become slang.

I don't think swearing is nessary though. It doesn't add anything to a conversation.

When you say most do you have a statistical figure? No, I didn't think you. If you don't like the way you are being spoken to then maybe you should find a different job.

All the New Zealanders I've meant have been very polite. Some of them swear a lot but I'd never call any of them rude.
I am surprised it is only New Zealanders that are rude when recieving calls from a call centre - I find it very rude when people ring me trying to get me to change telephone providers, donate to charities (which I do but I don't like to be phoned about it), asking for survey participants etc

I agree that our language is a bit more relaxed (and I noticed this a bit more when I lived in England).....and in fact I know where one person related a story about being at a posh do and the leading lady sudding was talking about f*** this and F*** that....altough that was in Australia...its pretty much the same.
I'm not sure where you are calling from....I know that accent could make a different...in NZ we are not happy that some comp[anies take work out of New Zealand...and that could be a reason.
I have no idea if its the "no class" system here that allows people to talk how they want to people....I personally find it emmbarrassing that you find many calls from NZ to be rude....I think if it was face to face it might be different (in that people feel they can be ruder to people who they can't see).

I found when living in New Zealand (I am British) that some kiwis have a slightly more relaxed approach to language - that they don't see the f*** word as perticularly offensive.

I also found some kiwis know exactly what they want, so if you're answering problem-related questions, don't expect them to take any BS!

People in NZ are some of the nicest in the world; friendly, hospitable and caring. Just get past their gruff exteriors and they're all lovely : D

If you are dealing with NZ'ers as a telebanking adviser and you speak like you spell many people will not understand you.
If they become exasperated they may use the F word but that is not directed at you.
If you are being sworn at you would know.
We also use the word bastard a lot to describe people like good bastard, the same goes for words like bloody or *****.

to insult some one we would call the bloody silly ***** above who has a problem with us kiwis, just that

You're english is not so great. If you are writing this from an Indian call center, Good on the Kiwis for telling you where to go. On behalf of Australia and New Zealand, go shove it where the sun doesn't shine. I'm sick of Indian call center workers calling me at 8pm at night, pretending to call from Australia.

If you are initiating the calls perhaps they don't like being interrupted by people tying to sell them something they don't want. It tries the patience of the politest person.

I would use a better word - but hey you said it, quite frankly I find the NZ people (white and black) to be up themselves think they are better than us aussies.

I know one in particular who is from there and living over here and ripping off the government and now trying to rip off her ex who I now live with and she is succeeding in doing it only because she is a fukkin greedy liar and cheat who will be paying when the government finds out - sorry you seemed to have hit a nerve
