The way i see it, everyone likes something different. Dogs and Cats have been around me all my life. A dog is good if you want exercise, but that dosen't mean kitties don't like to play! They both have the same qualities, so you have to think it over. Do you want a small fluffball of a kitty, who snozes all day and enjoys your company? Or do you want a dog, who is extremely playful and loves taking walks? On to choosing how to pick which one you prefer.

Usually, you'll like the type of animals you've grown up with. You remember how animals treat you. Even if your neighbor had a dog, it's still interaction. You can remember the dog being a sweetie or not, and that could also affect your decision. Matinence. Both cats and dogs shed, unless you're getting a poodle. Will you have time to clean all the stray fur? Will you have enough money for vet bills, food, toys, and other things your animal might need? Training. Never say your pet is stupid due to your neglect to train it. Cat scratching up the couch? There are tons of remedies for this, so don't sweat it. Dog barking day and night? It's ok, all you need is discipline. Also, never get mad at a cat for being more active at night. They're nocturnal. Anyway, they will always be up for a bit of play. Make sure you put a lot of thought into the descision. It's a Dog vs. Cat world out there. Unless the Dog and Cat are friends, that can be really cute <3

I hope I helped!

I've had many, many pets and in my opinion, the EASIEST pet is a cat. They can be left alone, even for a weekend, as long as they have plenty of food, water and litter boxes. Dogs need constant attention.

However, I can't imagine my life without my dog. Nothing will ever love you like your dog loves you.

Bringing in ANY pet is a huge responsibility. Huge. You are basically commiting the next 15-20 years of your life to caring for your pets. You are committing yourself to providing good food, fresh water, a clean environment, toys, exercise, love and VET CARE. Vet care is expensive and that's something to think about.

OK, cats vs. dogs...

A dog will need a lot more attention. He will need to be walked several times a day. He can't be left alone for too long. A dog will love you more than you can imagine. He will need lots of exercise, so hopefully YOU will get some exercise too. He will want to be with you all the time, including sleeping on your bed. You can train him not to, but he will be much happier if you let him sleep with you. A dog can also be diffucult if he is the type to bark a lot or if he is aggressive towards other animals. You might not know about these problems until after you've gotten your dog, so be prepared to deal with it.

A cat will also be very affectionate, but not like a dog. Most cats don't like to be held, he will prefer to settle down on you, because then it's HIS idea to snuggle. If you work all day, it's best to get TWO cats, that way they can keep each other company while you are away -- and you will have TWICE the love when you come home! Also, the best exercise for a cat is another cat. For optimum health and life span, cats should be kept indoors, which means you will have to clean a litter box -- it's not so bad! Just make sure you do it every day, make it part of your routine and you'll hardly notice. A cat can cause problems too, such as clawing your furniture (declawing is CRUEL) or spraying. These are behaviors you will have to be prepared to deal with.

Of course, any pet you get will need to be neutered or spayed.

Both cats and dogs make wonderful pets. It's up to you to be just as wonderful to them!

well,
both are great, but it really depends on Y O U!
if you are the kind of person who is more mellow or has a busier schedule and will not be able to be home all that much, go for a cat. they are less maintenance and it has actually been scientifically proven that they relieve stress (hence the busy schedule)
on the other hand, if you have the time and patience for a dog, then get a dog. of course certain breeds vary in personality. so whether you want a playful one or a a calm one will be on you.

remember, dogs are harder to train than cats (especially when it comes to potty training)
so if training is not your strong point, go for a cat.

good luck
hope you make the right choice.
P.S. if you cant decide, get one of each. indulge a little. pets make your life 10 times more meaningful than when your alone.

well..... somepeple perfer cats others dogs!! just depends on ur personality... cats are calmer and are eaisier to cuddle w/ but dogs are usually more plaful and need more attention!!! It also depends on where u live!! if u live in a small house w/o a yard u should either get a cat or a small dog that u would be willing to walk atleast evry other day!!! But if u lived in a decent sized house w/ a big yard, you could get a cat and/or a big or small dog!!!! Good luck!!!

Well Ipersonaly think a cat. If you like quite small animals than a cat is perfect..! But if you like playful outgoing soetims big sometimes small animals that are noisey and arent house broken yet that are teething and rip up everything then a puppy is the right animal for you!!! Good luck!

Well, which do you think would fit better in your home? I have a cat who is a little crazy, but I love him. And before I got him, I was in the same prediciment as you. But after finding my little orange buddy, I was assured I made the right decision. I think you sould look at a few different places like animal shelters, to see if any of them really catch you. Good luck !

It depends on your personality and the time you're willing to put into the animal. Are you really active? Are you home a lot? Do you want to be able to play with the pet? Questions like these are really important.

Personally, I would say dog. They're fun, playful, sweet, the love it when you come home, it's not that hard to clean up after them, and they're up for anything.

Tough discision, but good luck! =)
