He just got home from work, after getting a hair cut and headed right for the shower. I've been on the clock since 6:30 - and my day isn't over with the kids ... He worked from 7-3 and is done with his day ...

So are you miffed at him because he immediately took a shower - no kiss hello, or an offer to help with the kids or supper, etc
Or are you miffed at him because his day is over at 3 and yours will probably still be going at midnight?
Either way, I don't think you should worry about the guilt. Everyone has rough days, but you might want to mention to him that on days where his day ends early you expect him to help out around the house and not just turn into a couch potato, or go out golfing with the guys.

I often get frustrated because even though women have different roles these days. We are still expected to take care of the household ones. I work all day and still have to worry about the dinner, kids and cleaning. Every now and then, to answer your question, I go on strike and refuse to do anything, cook, clean, wash clothes. He gets real tired of eating sandwiches and dirty clothes and pitches in. It doesn't last long maybe a couple of weeks, but I go on strike every now and then to let hI'm know im feeling taken for granted. I work 8 to 10 hrs a day outside of the home too.

I completely agree.
I work from 8-5, and when i get home, I relieve my wife of her wifely duties. She only technically "works" part-time, but she takes care of the kids the rest of the day. So when I get home, I cook her a nice, warm meal, and she can sit down and relax.
However, my job isn't particularly hard. If your husband works on cars all day, or builds houses, etc., let him take a shower. His probably needs it.
---By the way, you should feel lucky that you get to see your children all day. I wish I could, but I only get to spend time with them in the afternoons.

You should be miffed - assuming you maintain the home.
A functional family depends on a good distribution of labor. If anything is one-sided, the family dynamic suffers. The home is everyone's responsibility.

Shyte. Id PAY to stay at home all day and play with kids rather than have 3 hours of commuting to a job that I waste 9 hours at each day.

So get a job.
I would much rather stay home and entertain my kids than go to work. I don't have a problem doing the housework either. Unfortunately, if I did, I couldn't keep them and my wife in the style to which they want to become accustomed.
You have chosen to stay home. Realize and enjoy the benefits that you have.
