usually there will be a gaalon left when the light comes on. so whatever mpg your car goes thats how many miles it will do. this also depends on how u drive it. will last longer if u drive in as high a gear as possible and not change too often, also dont always accelerate hard and it will do u a bit longer

The petrol light usually indicates about 5 litres left in the tank. How far a 1.2 Clio (or any car) can go on 5 litres varies depending on road and traffic conditions, speed, driving style and even the weather - could be as much as 70 miles, or as little as 25 miles.

If it's a petrol engine, then put a jerry can in the boot and find out for yourself. Don't try this if it's a diesel engine, the fuel feed will need to be primed again - an AA/RAC call-out job unless you're mechanically minded.

Not many. It means you need to be more organised about fuelling up if this is a regular occurence. Just think of the c**p from your tank that you are putting in the carburettor if you let the fuel run so low. You could cause yourself a lot of probs.

usually around 25 miles poss 30, roughly the distance to service stations on motorways, thats the idea anyway...
