My definition of God is this: the absolute truth, so it's kind of hard to reject that altogether now isn't it? Plus it creates this unfortunate logical paradox,

I can understand your frustration. But I see the insults and jokes coming from ALL directions. Not just those who don't believe as you do...or as I do. I've seen plenty of Christians make fun of Pagan beliefs, joking about them and insulting them simply because they don't believe. I certainly don't think that means they are resisting my Gods... because I know they don't believe they are real. You can't resist something you "Know" isn't real. *wink*
We also have to take into consideration that in places like this, online, there aren't going to be very many people who are going to want to have a civil discussion or even a simple sharing of ideas. Instead, we get a lot of insults, justifications, jokes... right down to some good ol' hate (I hope you can see the sarcasm here). I just try to make the best of what I'm given. =)

In my case, it's because I'm not merely an atheist, but an Anti-theist. I truly, honestly believe that the concept of god and the condition of religion is a detrement to society as a whole, to each individual within said society, and to the future of mankind. I aim to contribute to man's present and future good by working toward the dissolution of religious concepts through exposure of inherent falsehoods, and corruption of traditional western concepts of morality.
In this world, I am the closest thing to Satan you'll probably ever find. That's a matter of pride for me, actually. He's the only guy in the bible about whom I don't have something bad to say.
And so I continue mocking, satiring, and sundering the petrified religious mind.

I don't believe in a fiction created by ignorant ancient people in an attempt to explain things that happened in a world they couldn't yet understand.
A fiction continued by "priests" and such to maintain a powerbase over the ignorant.
A fiction maintained by religious cults like christianity, islam, judiasm to escape the consequences of thier own actions claiming some kind of devine plan.
A fiction brainwashed into children by their parents in perpertuity because they can't think for themselves, and "gol durn it," that's just they way it's always been.

Here's where they're coming from
Imagine you meet a man who claims the earth is flat. You correct him, and explain that the earth is round.
He insists that not only are you wrong, but there will be dire consequences to your opinion...the earth is flat. You explain again that while at one time that was a popular assumption, we now know the earth is round.
You show him photos of a round earth, you explain the science of the earth, you take him in a plane so he can see the curve of the earth. He claims the science is wrong, the photos are of a flat earth, and closes his eyes on the plane.
After awhile, you'd abandon being polite and resort to venting your frustrations with questions meant to point out the absurdity of his claim, jokes and insults.

Wake up dude. Man's free will is under attack through religions. Religions go as far as to say man's free will was given to him by a God so this God has the right to control man's will. Man was created by God so God can do what ever he wants with man. God even use man to kill other men that don't believe in God as creator of everything.
What is so frightening obvious is God has no voice of his own. Only men speak for God there for man is under the control of man through religion which is sold to man from birth.
Wake up, wake up, wake up!!!

We Atheist need to educate the gullible in to the right thought process. Show the flaws in the belief in imaginary gods and their misguide holy books.
But do not intend to insult my future Atheist friends.

You asked this question, we didn't.
As far as insults, it's because the bible is so full of nonsensical things like a bat being a kind of bird.
As far as jokes, it's because we have a sense of humor and you don't (although perhaps the biblical writers did and christians just aren't getting the joke).
As far as resistance, we fight for freedom. We don't want to be sheep in your flock.

Atheist's They do not believe in God but think that people who do are a joke. In the end though, they turn out to be the joke when they do stupid things lik fight that their child does not have tosay "I pledge allegeience to the flag" because it mentions God in it. Imagine what their poor 8 year old daughter is going thru at school by her peers. We don't even need to get into the Heave stuff.
