Having diarrhea causes the large intestine to go into spasms. It is located right under the rib cage. So what you are feeling is an intestinal problem. use Imodium to stop the diarrhea. Eat a very simple diet so that the intestines can rest and the spasms will stop. Baked potatoes are very good, white rice and bananas. This will give you an idea of what to eat for now.

It sounds like you could have either pulled a muscle in your ribs or something called 'costchondritis' which is imflammation of the muscles and tendons in between the ribs and around the rib cage. It feels like a constant dull ache in your chest. I've had the same thing for years, its nothing to worry about, just a bit annoying. Try suggesting it to your GP or research it a bit more. I take paracetamol and ibuprofen when mine flares up which tends to help quite a bit. Hope this helps, take care :)
