Is it normal not to be able to bite down all the way when you have molar bands?

I just got my molar bands and I am not able to bite down all of the way, and i was wondering if that is normal.

It happened to me during the first few days I got them. The metal rings just kept getting in the way, didn't they? I mentioned this to my orthodontist and he said it will be okay once the teeth starts to shift. So, not to worry! :)

THE BEST THING IS TO ASK YOUR DENTIST, BUT IT'S NOT NORMAL NOT TO BE ABLE TO BITE DOWN AS USUAL.
