OMG! I thought this was only an issue in MY home!
My GF and I have no problems whatsoever when it comes to farting in front of each other.I ALWAYS try to give a name to each variety of her farts.I usually do this by mimicing,with my voice,the sound of her unlady-like expulsions.Sometimes it's a quiet little "spooooot".Other times it's a scary "BRRRRROOOOOOOTT".Once in a while we're fortunate enough to witness the elusive "squit".Not quite the "squirt" of which you speak,but close enough.
Each episode ends with a good laugh.

Haha! I'd personally be proud if my fart sounded like that. Most farts sound like a dying cow/lion. XD I'd laugh for sure!
