What is the consequence of not telling someone you love them?

He's my best mate but I've decided to just let it go cause like they say if you love someone let them go right and if they return to you then they were yours in the 1st place if not then they were never yours.

So thats what I'm doing, like they say "There are plenty of fish in the sea right?

But what is the consequence of not telling someone you love them? Is it just the wonderings about the what ifs?

Dont worry we're still the best of mates he just doesnt know how I feel b\c I decided to let my feelings for him just go....

I'm 21 and he's 28 but he is amazing, yeah he's older but if only you guys knew the guy I met b4 was all about drinking and one-nighters and NOW he's changed his self around he doesnt drink all that much and he doesnt have one-nighters anymore cause he said he's just tired of it and bored of it. See thats how close we are he tells me everything... hes the sweetest guy Ive ever known & I always knew that I could see it in his blue eyes.

I am in love with him more then anyone could ever know.The reason how I know the things he's done is b\c he tells me, and I actually think he's wanting to settle down now.....

well, the saying "if you love someone then let em go" is more in the meaning if you love someone and they are taking you for granite than set them free so they can see the error of their ways,but if they don't come back then they never really loved you.
What you are doing is being a fool, If you think he is great and he treats you well and is the best guy you know than your messed up for letting him go to test the waters for something that just might be the worst thing you ever had!
Look, stop thinking that you can play with people that don't deserve it and get away with it and still win.
Don't think your the only girl out there that knows what he is.I am sure there is probably at least a few that would take your place in a minute and will if you continue your game of charade's.
Go to him tell him you love him (if in fact you really do, which I am not sure you do) and be thankful you have someone like him to be there for you and with you.There are many out there who could only wish to be so lucky!

"if you love someone then let them go" usually refers to someone that is trying to break it off with you but is really hurt and doesn't want to hurt your feelings so you must let them go to make them feel better. "plenty more fish in the sea" thats the case when you've been dumped and someones trying to cheer you up. The consequences of not telling someone you love them when you really do are unforeseen... better to start light and get the relationship to more than friends because friends are now the foundations of the relationship, very good. it sounds to me like you want to get closer anyway and nothing needs to be said (not yet if you dont feel comfortable saying) you can always show a person how you feel and i dont mean in a sexual manner, it can be a day at the park holding each other; its simple, light and really does mean something. but heres a question for you: if tomorrow doesn't come what would you want to have done before the end because time does run out for us all and it goes really fast the older you get.

He has 7 years of 1-nighters experience more than you, which means he probably knows what a woman wants to hear. Sounds like he's "been around the block" as us old timers say. Be careful, don't jump in until you know what you are getting. If things really have changed (odds are against this!) then tell him you think you have feelings for him and wondered how he felt. If all he wants is a friend, he'll tell you.

First of all the saying "if you love them let them go" only implies if that person knows you love them in the first place. Second the consequence of not telling them is that they don't tell you how they feel and you miss out on what could be the best experience of your life. Don't let fear of denial keep you from stating how you feel. If he doesn't feel the same you two will still be friends and you will know you need to focus your attention elsewhere for romance but if he feels the same as you then look out because you could be in for the ride of you life.

You might never know how he feels. What if he's doing the same thing and waiting for you to tell him how you feel? But you should go with what you feel most comfortable with. Good Luck!

the consequence is wondering what could have been. it may not sound like much but it can be TORTURE. i would give it a shot! go for it. you only live once! regret what you did, not what you didn't
