First of all, curling time will be the same no matter what size barrell you use. The big ones give you looser curls (bigger) and smaller ones give you tighter curls. I use a 1" iron and I think it works the best because the curls aren't too big or too small. Here's a link to a 1-1/2" barrell curling iron:

Try something from Conair or Vidal Sassoon. You can get one for a good price at WalMart or Target.

You use a small barrel for tight curls and a larger barrel for looser wavy curls. It depends on the style you are going for as to which one works better. Look at Wal-Mart or a similar discount store you can probably find one anywhere from $15 - $30.

The only difference is the curl size really, big barel irons are used for girls with longer hair or girls who want bigger curls. To me they dont curl any faster or any slower.

But I have a awesome one, its buy conair, Conair always has great ones for really cheap. I cant find the exact one I have but this one is close.

The smaller the barrel the tighter the curls will be. They cost about $30.

I use the large barrels for streightening, as well as loose curls. I would be lost without it! You can get a good one for 30-50 bucks;)

you have to have fairly longish hair for them to work...they can be used to volumize your hair some and they are good for smoothing out kinks..the curl wont hold too well without a lot of product..and hairspray. Its more useful to have a medium sized one.Im sure you could find one at a walmart or zellers for under 12 dollars or go to a thrift sore and find one even cheaper...you can clean them. Most people get tired of them quickly and throw them out.

Well walmart and target has them, and depending on the style you want it can be nicer, and they curl jus as good, but again it depends on the style you're goin for.
