open office question?

im using openoffice now because my laptop came with a trial version of microsoft word and it expired. i dont mind much because they're basically the same. but is there any way to make the paper in the middle of the screen? on mine the white paper is on the left side and theres just gray on the right. any way to center it or is that how it always is?
*i have the windows version not mac or linux*
