Ok, listen to me very carefully, this exact thing happened to me less than a year ago, and i didn't go to the hospital till I felt faint and it they told me my apendix had burst and I was lucky to have lived. it is very dangerous if it bursts. You will need to get it removed, but now it is infected and they will most likely have to give you antibiotics till the infection goes away. I felt exactly what you are telling me and I went to a couple of doctors who told me it was food poisoning, bastards!! So, i went home, and eventually the pain goes away, so you think you are fine, but it will come back, and get worse and worse. I am not joking, go to the hospital now, you are describing exactly what I felt. The pain is from the right lower quadrant right? it is slightly puffed, or a bit bloated in the area. That is the inflamation from the infection.
Good luck, I have been fine ever since I got it taken out, but go now!!

When it comes to abdominal discomfort, the possibilites are too numerous to even think about diagnosing yourself. The following are warning signs that something serious is going on: fever, no recent bowel movements.. or on the other hand diarrhea, change in the appearance of the skin near the discomfort, pain after eating or drinking, swelling in that area, low blood pressure, reduced amount of urination, or these problems developed after recently taking any antibiotics.

In any event, you should get checked out if there are any remaining symptoms at this point. Appendicitis is only one possibility. There are others and they can be equally serious. My nephew died at the age of 17 because he did not get to a doctor fast enough with an intestinal infection that resulted in peritonitis. Tummy tenderness is not always felt close to the area where the problem is... doctors call this "referred pain".

Appendicitis can cause pain in your right side and around your belly button. Put your right thumb on your belly button and your little finger on our pelvic bone then press your middle finger onto your abdomen - this is where your appendix is sited. Did you have a temperature? Did you have loose motions? Did the pain radiate anywhere else? Are your periods regular ?Are you taking any contraception or trying for a family? There is always the chance of an ectopic pregnancy but you would probably have been admitted b now. Are you passing urine alright? If you are concerned about the pain and itis not settling with REGULARanalgesia, seeyour doctor.

It would be wise to see your doctor. Better safe than sorry. It sounds like symptoms of Appendicitis, Symptoms alone are not enough to diagnose it, but there are blood tests that can help determine if it is. Also, another sypmtom would be rebound tenderness were pressure is applied to the area and no pain would be felt, but upon release instead. Not only that, but it can also be a few other things depending on the area.

Do you have a fever yet?
What you describe is quite similar to an acute appendicitis attack. Usually, this requires you seek emergent help, but you aren't as sick as one would expect two days post with no intervention.
Excruciating pain followed by relief, as you mentioned, happens after the appendix has ruptured.
I would see the doctor asap! If nothing else, rule out the above mentioned scenario.

I had my apendix (appendicitis) removed at age of 17. It star ted with a regular stomach pain but i know for a fact that usually apendix pain is mainly in your bottom right abdominal part. In my case whole stomach hurted, and it lasted for nonstop 3 hours before my family made me go to hospital. Doc said we not going to take any chance (will explain later why) so they proceeded with surgery and removed my apendix which came out to be a lil bloated. Surgery is very easy procedure for this kind of diagnosis. Last for 30min to an hour. Can be done different ways with one deep cut on a side or 3 small cuts that will disapear with time for good. If you are young and you care how your bikini/ v section if you are male, look then you might want to go for a 3 cut procedure. I had that one done. It works as so: two cuts parallel to your v section of lower stomach, and one inside your belly button shaping it so it looks natural once its healed. 2 small cuts on a bottom used to docs to blow up your stomach so once they insert bigger size utensils through your belly button they can see well what they doing. Stitch you up and you are done and good to go literally in few days later with a help of a penicillin for faster healing.
The reason why i recommend for your to seek help right away even if pain is not as persistent is because your body may be getting used to pain and you become adapt to it ignoring a huge problem. See apendix can be already bloated and as you eat more and more, certain foods that are not being process by your digestive system are going to be stored in apendix area on top of what already there. That can cause serious complications to include death. You would think such a small surgery procedure and fast healing but very serious problem on other hand if left unattended. If your apendix is full and bloated and desides to burst inside or your stomach you pretty much on a bad life expectancy. Dont get all scared now, people survived that but imagine 30 min simple surgery to remove this thing, now you will go for 2-3 hour long surgery to wash all your gutz from the stuff that exploded from your apendix. So no worries, just try not to put too much strength on your stomach, no tight belts, no sun flower seeds, no watermelon seed accidental swallowing. Just rush to a doc and get yourself checked. Good luck!
