The Episcopal Church is not under the authority of the Roman Catholic Pope. They are a Protestant church. They do not, generally speaking, venerate the Blessed Virgin Mary in the same way as Catholics. They allow female clergy. However, their liturgy is very similar to that of the Roman Catholic Church.

I converted from the Episcopal Church to the Roman Catholic Church recently.

Women priests, acceptance of homosexuals as clergy, and not being Papists are three big differences.
