You lose weight only one way: take in fewer calories than you burn.

Mowing the lawn requires you to move. Moving requires you to burn more calories than you would sitting still. Therefore, mowing the lawn could help you lose weight, depending on how much you eat.

You can do all the exercise in the world, but if you eat too much then you won't lose weight.

Well. Pushing the lawnmower is a very good workout but it won't exactly melt the pounds away the first time you do it. If you mow the lawn and also eat healthy while doing other exercises everyday... you can lose weight and get into a great shape.
