Do you feel empty, numb, hopeless, helpless, worthless, can't feel any joy, don't enjoy things that used to give you pleasure, having sleep problems, can't concentrate? If so, it sounds like a true clinical depression, which is a physical illness that manifests itself in mental symptoms. You are not alone and you did not cause this. It's a chemical imbalance in the brain. You need anti-depressants. See your doctor soon.

you need to find an online friend that you can email that you can just unload your problems when your down, and help you figure out why you are doing this cutting. You need to realize we are only on this earth temporary, then once we die, we will be judged by God and either go to Hell, or to heaven. How old are you? maybe find a teen hotline, or something to help you unload all your problems, think about homeless kids, or disabled kids with major problems, or think about being blind or deaf, maybe you can somehow see that your problems can't compare to those. Life is too short to do those things to your self. I have never done it so i dont know from experience, but i have had my share of problems. you need to maybe get a pad of paper and start writing down stuff in a journal or do it online, it will help unload your mind. Good luck, you need to remember that you could end up killing your self, is life that bad, try and do some volunteer work somewhere, there are lots of people out there that need help.

Oh, honey, first off, please stop hurting yourself. I have a friend who does this too, and it makes me so upset. You are not only hurting yourself by behaving this way. You really need to find someone who will not judge you, and you can really tell them what is on your mind. We all go through times of feeling alone and overwhelmed in our lives, but you really have to try to stay strong. I'm sure you are a really special and unique girl. I'm also sure there are more people out there who care about you than you realize. I'm so sorry you feel this way about your life. Feel free to send me an email if you need to talk. Best of luck, and things honestly will get better. It's not just a saying!

Nothing is wrong with asking for help, which you have now. Ask a parent or adult you trust about talking to a pyschologist. If you don't feel comfortable with the one you talk to, no shame in asking for a different one. You have to get to the real root of the depression before you know how you can deal with it.

You are going through a low point in your life right now. I promise that things will improve, and cutting yourself will do no good at all. If you're think of a more drastic alternative, just remember that suicide is a permanent solution to a temporary problem. And YES, your family and friends will be devastated if you did do it.

I was the same way right out of high school....just talk to your friends more, and try to look on the bright side of things. I hope everything turns out okay. Good luck.

Can you talk with a counselor or a psychologist? There are low-rate and no-rate services - start by calling Samaritans or your city's mential health hotline.
You don't have to be alone, but you do have to find someone to trust. PLEASE make that phone call.

There's always something in the future to look forward to. Sometimes it's just really hard to see it.
