Or do you like it the old fashioned way?

Using electronics is akin to using a road map to find your way to someplace you have never been, or back to a place you want to go.

Tournament fisherman are on such a tight time constraint to produce they have to use them to be competitive. Utilizing technology in fishing is not cheating. You still have to be able to interpret the data you are receiving and turn it into useful information. It isn't as easy as some think it would be.

I like it the old fashioned way of being able to read the water and locate fish that way. It holds more challenge to be sure.

Good question. Thanks.

No I don't think its cheating. Using electronics to help you fish is not the way I fish. I think it takes half the fun out of fishing. Although I belive you can fish any way you want. The most I ever used was a depth finder if anything, but I seldomly ever use a boat. When I used to go fishing with my neighbor alot, about 75% of the time we chose our fishing spots from reading the birds and the other 25% of the time we went to places we had luck before or thought we might have some luck. We used land marks to find our favorite hole, not GPS or even a map. But that's the way I like to fish. I don't think using electronics is cheating, and I think they can fish the way they choose. Its all about having fun anyway.
I would like to see those guys that are on TV and fish with all that fancy equipment go to a fishing tournament and all they can use is a aluminum boat with a fishing pole and a few basic lures, no fancy sponsors, and going up against regular people who fish that way all the time.that's pretty much it. That's a fishing show I would watch.

Well personally I think every man or woman for their self-but I prefer the old timer way. It's the most relaxing thing in the world to go fishing and even if you don't catch that much just being out on the water away from the world is wonderful to me. I t has a calming affect on me . I can usuallly sleep like a log after a day of fishing- I've never understood that part though...

Using electronis do not guarantee you any fish at all. I use my gps and fish finder to follow a previous path and to monitor the depth of the water. I currently use my gps on my kayak not to mark areas fish are biting but to make sure I am able to head back to my launch site since I paddle out in the fog and go for 2 to 3 miles at a time.

Using electronics for fishing isn't cheating. They help you locate the best areas to fish in, to increase your odds, so to say. But when it comes down to it, It is still the skill and ability of the fisherman that determines what gets caught and how many.

The old fashioned way it's much more fun. I'd hate if I had a device telling where the fish are! Doesn't that take away the whole point of fishing?! I go fishing with my dad to just sit and relax and get away from all my duties.

Yes and No

I kinda consider it the Cliff Notes to fishing..lol...find out the answer to where they are at...but..it still doesn't make them get on your hook..lol...( I call the ultimate cheating ..is a net...)

I prefer it the old fashion way...more relaxing..and you feel wonderful when you catch one and then let it go..to grow bigger!

I dont think that it is cheating. I dont use them. I just like to go out and think about where the fish might be and try my luck.

using electronics for fishing is not cheating,it helps you find them but it sure don't make them bite,I am fine with either way as long as they are biting and not teasing ya.
