They've been copying and pasting for 2000 years. How do you think they maintained the Bible before the invention of the printing press?
I knew a Jesuit father who used to joke that they messed up, copying "celebrate" as "celibate". I thought it was funny but I couldn't imagine how it could seem funny to him.

they think they can persuade others by volume from a book some people don't believe is true.iv noticed that they are usually all [level -1 ] people.i seen really smart Christians that are level -1 but the majority seem to want to drowned you with stuff that they don't understand.
i can never figure out how they can take a verse from Genesis, and combine it with a verse from the New Testament, 4000 years a part[ there time ] and make a point.
like saying the wright brothers and the space shuttle in the same sentence.weird to me.
ow ,and i ask them to say things in there own words one time and they coulnt do it.

Several regulars on here seem to do this and even as a Christian I am offended. I am perfectly capable of reading and understanding scripture on my own. Some of it comes from questionable beliefs within Christianity and I resent it being presented as what I and other Christians believe. I usually thumb it down or even report it, just so I can get to the real answers.
don't panic

Atheists do it too, they copy and paste from their Atheist sites and that makes them sound worse than the derelicts on street corners.

The Christian faith is based on the Word of God. So when presenting certain claims, Christian prefer to back it up with scriptures so that people will know that the information provided is not merely "opinion", but is based on what the Bible says.

How do you know they are being copied and pasted? Many many Christians memorize scripture.. So before you go making judgments, maybe you should think about this. We memorize scriptures to try to help people and have biblical references to help us.
Have a WONDERFUL day!

Two edge sword on this one - Scripture from the holy book is what they believe. So, as support, they post the relevant scripture to back up their arguments / statements. However, since the scripture itself is unverifiable, it actually does nothing to buttress the arguments.

If you were asked a question about what Lincoln though about slavery, won't quoting him be the best way to accuratly relate his thoughts?
If you were asked about the latest scientific discovery, won't quoting the article or research paper be the best answer?
When ask a question about God and religion, quoting him and the authorized articles about him is the best answer.
Are there people abusing the scriputre and posting mile long quotes that have nothing to do with the subject - yes. And that is really annoying. Just as annoying is asking a question about the Christian faith, and then complaining when the Christians quote their source.

As the man said - it seems to be what passes for thinking in some of 'em.
It's weird - they have screeds of verses for any situation, but not an original thought in their heads. It's like trying to have a conversation with a database.

The scriptures contain the Words of God. The Words of God can be relied upon as absolute truth. These eternal truths never change. I know that the Bible, the Book of Mormon, the Doctrine and Covenants, and the Pearl of Great Price contain the Words of Eternal life, even the Words of our God.
Below is a link to these scriptures. Read them and drink from living waters.
