Is there a specific reason you want a Kodak?

How important is the video function? How important is the quality of both image and sound of video to you?

The Canon Powershot S3 IS takes the best video clips of any still camera. Besides your options of 240x320 at 15, 30 or 60 fps or 480x640 at 15 or 30 fps; it has a dedicated video button (most don't) so you can take video while on any setting, and also take high resolution stills while taking the video (there is a very brief blank spot in the video where the still is taken, which can be edited out). On most other still camera, you have to set the camera on video before taking a video clip, which takes a few seconds, and in which time you could miss what you wanted to shoot.

This camera records sound in stereo, and you can use the zoom (it has a 12x optical zoom) while recording video. You can take up to 8 minutes (1gb) of video at a time, and if you have, say, a 4gb sd card, you can take one 8 minute video clip after another. For the video feature, you need a high speed SD card, such as Sandisks Ultra II or Extreme III.

All of this of course comes at a cost, I got mine for $350, plus another $125 for three sets of rechargeable AA batteries, charger, and two 1gb memory cards and one 2gb memory cards. Depending on your use of the camera, you could probably get by with two sets of batteries and one 1gb or 2gb memory card, which would cost you about $60-80 all inclusive.

The S3 IS gets excellent battery life, I avg 500 still photo's and five minutes of video per set of batteries. That is also about what I can fit on one 2gb memory card.

If this is too expensive for your budget, you might check some of the other Canon digital cameras and look at the video features and see if some of the less expensive cameras have similar capabilities.

Kodak easyshare. about $140, plus, say $30 for a good memory card. It does photos and video.
However, I have had three kodak easyshare- each from different "numbers" each one has malfunctioned within a short time. My current one has recently broken (all the pictures come out blurry), and I can't find the receipt.
Apart from that, easyshare are good cameras, but based on my experience, my advice is don't buy kodak.
