I suppose the cave people (not sure which ones exactly you are referring to) worshipped god's such as sun gods, fertility gods, fire god, wheel god, etc. I don't think there was a real organized religion as you know it today. Basically they were probably considered pagans.

Survival of the fittest, Primal sex drive, Natural selection, We still use tools(slightly more modern than rocks), Men who did not evolve well still hits women and drag them off to mate, We can still make a sound besides a word that means something, Girls have re-modernized the cavemans clothes known as the Thong"hehehe", Some still fight over females, We still believe fire will make us warm. We still believe that things that fly are pretty cool, We still believe invaders should be killed, we still believe that if we jump around unrationally it will scare others off.
