If Christians believe Jesus is GOD then they cannot deny he sent down all the versese concering WAR AND KILLING in the Old Testament.
They now say they dont have to follow them --- but they cannot deny he sent them down in the first place, If they believe he is the God of the Old Testament.

"Do you still believe that Noah built the Ark to survive the Flood?"
No. Noah built the ark because he was told to do it.
"Do you still believe Moses saved the Jews from the Pharoah?"
Under the direction of God, Moses led the children of Israel from Egypt. Some of them were Jews, but they weren't called Jews until much later. They were not all 'Jews'. I know that's not what you are getting at, but you are using a word that didn't apply, revealiong a bit of ignorance on your part. They were Hebrews, some might be called 'Jews' because 1) they practiced something we call Judaism ( they didn't) , and 2) because some of them were of the tribe of Judah. Otherwise they were Hebrews or Israelites.
"Do you still believe Adam was the first man? And that Eve was the first woman, formed from Adam's rib?"
Not in particular. 'Adam' might mean 'first man', but it also means other things too. Some of those things are not too positive. But the Bible says that God breathed life into Adam. It didn't mean that God didn't create other people. If God chose to make woman out of Adam, then I have no problem with it. This subject doesn't make me Christian anyway. This question can be called a 'non sequitor' to my faith.
"Do you still believe the Ten Commandments were given to Moses on Mount Sinai?"
Yes, one of them. It's just that there is debate on where Mount Sinai is. I'm convinced that the show "The Naked Archaeologist" found it.
"If so, then why do you discredit the laws in the Old Testament?"
I think you didn't separate historical biblical occurances from application of ideologies. So your question does not connect logically. At least, that's the way I see it. Besides, the application of the Law in the Old Testament has changed, being that they were fulfilled through Christ, since we are incapable of keeping them.
Following all 613 commandments are necessary to fulfill the Law. No one in all history was capable of doing so. Especially now, because there is no temple. Even if there was, we still couldn't do this. You seem to be missing the reason that Jesus came. Because we are not capable of fulfilling the Law. Why can't people get this?
The Law reveals the fact that we cannot follow it. Either we decide to not care, or we come to God in the realization that we are dead to God, unless He provides grace towards us. We gain that grace by the one who could fulfill the Law; Jesus Christ. Are you getting it now?
"If you disregard part of it, you can't pick and choose which parts to follow or believe."
Well, that's okay for you to think that, I didn't realize that you were the one who makes the rules. Nice to meet you. But instead of fooling myself into believing that I can even come close to living the Law, I'd rather claim the covering for sin that is in Jesus Christ. You do it however it makes sense to you.

Uncle Thesis is right. The law of Moses was fulfilled at Christ's sacrifice on the cross. The whole set of animal sacrifices and outward performances were taskmasters to keep the people in the remembrance of their God and keep their minds on that GREAT and LAST sacrifice, which was Jesus Christ.
For example, circumcision, animal sacrifices, and other practices from the Law of Moses were said to be intended for all generations, forever, but the Law of Moses was fulfilled in Christ. It seems like a contradiction unless we understand "forever" to be a figure of speech or to mean "until God declares otherwise."

It is TRUE, but NO LONGER IN EFFECT:
Ephesians 2:15 Through his body on the cross, Christ put an END to the LAW WITH ALL ITS COMMANDS AND RULES. He wanted to create one new group of people out of the two. He wanted to make peace between them.
Colossians 2:14 He wiped out the written Law with its rules. The Law was against us. It opposed us. He took it away and nailed it to the cross.
Galatians 2:16 ...No one can be made right with God by obeying the law.
Galatians 2:21 ...What if a person could become right with God by obeying the law? Then Christ died for nothing!
Romans 3:20 So it can’t be said that anyone will be made right with God by obeying the law. Not at all! The law makes us more aware of our sin. 21 But now God has shown us how to become right with him. The Law and the Prophets give witness to this. It has nothing to do with obeying the law.
Galatians 5:4 Some of you are trying to be made right with God by obeying the law. You have been separated from Christ. You have fallen away from God’s grace... The ONLY verse that talks about falling from grace, and they did it by trying to follow the law!
Jesus said he didn’t come to destroy the law, but to fulfill it. (Matt 5:17) The effect was the same. Once fulfilled it was no longer in effect. The very next verse, Matthew 5:18, looks forward to the time when the law would be set aside. "...Not even the smallest stroke of a pen will disappear from the Law UNTIL EVERYTHING IS COMPLETED." This “UNTIL” clause reinforces the temporary nature of the law. It ONLY makes sense when we understand that it was intended from the beginning to be set aside.
On the cross, Jesus' last recorded saying, "It is finished," is an important milestone. Because of Jesus life, Satan had been defeated. The law was finished and would no longer stand between God and mankind.
The 10 commandments along with the rest of the law ("commands and rules" from Ephesians 2:15) were "set aside" when they were fulfilled or completed at Jesus' resurrection. We are no longer bound by that law.
... That certainly doesn't mean that the teaching is no longer valid.
Romans 15:4 Everything that was written in the past was written to teach us. The Scriptures give us strength to go on. They cheer us up and give us hope.

Hi there,
It's not that we think the Old Testament is gone. However, the covenant has changed. We have went from the Old Covenant to the New Covenant. Before, a person had to be circumsized to be an Isrealite, now we are under grace.
God took away the things standing against us and nailed it to the cross. Here is the Scripture: Colossians 2:14-
14having canceled the written code, with its regulations, that was against us and that stood opposed to us; he took it away, nailing it to the cross..
I hope this helps!
God bless!!

Yes
Yes
Yes, but I am not sure that Adam and Eve were their actual names
Yes
The "Law" of God is still in effect... the instructions to The Nation of Israel, concerning Dietary and Cerimonial and Priestly Duties, do not apply to The Chruch. The Church was commissioned by Jesus The Christ and is not bound by those instructions that were only for The Nation of Israel(the Jews)
The teaching of Jesus The Christ covers all of The Law of God as it applies to The Church... The Law of God is not to be imposed upon any who are not in submission to God

Rom 15:4Â For all the things that were written aforetime were written for our instruction, that through our endurance and through the comfort from the Scriptures we might have hope.
Jesus quoted from the old testament and so did the Apostles.
We benefit greatly from reading and meditating on the old testament.

No one can follow the laws completely. We all fall short. Nothing we can do or any works we do, can earn us our salvation. It is by "grace" we are saved. By having a relationship with Jesus, then we try our best to follow the commands & laws but still fall short. We are all sinners but saved by Grace. Praise you Jesus for what you did for us on the cross.

You are listing people and stories in the Old Test. Not the law. When our nations laws change does that make the stories of people prior non existent? No. Jesus came to change the law, not to wipe away the history of His people. God bless you.
