My brother was involved in an accident. he was crossing across 2 lanes of traffic and didnt see a oncoming car. after the accident when the cops were at the scene a friend of his came to see if he was alright. the cops started making fun of him because he is a little eccentric and has blue hair. Why do they think that is acceptable when they are on the job. shouldnt they be role models?

it not professional that the cops laughed at him. At the same time if you have blue hair, or otherwise wear something that is meant to stand out and create attention on the person, they need to accept the attention that comes their way. Sorry but bottom line, if your friend had blue hair, he gets what attention (in this case laughter) is coming to him, and in turn the cops who laughed will be talked to regarding their conduct. Also cops see the worst of the worst, they laugh on scene at times because it is the only thing that can keep them from breaking down, or otherwise let the pressures and stresses of the job get to them. Is it possible they were laughing to relieve tension, and keep their minds clear?

Luckily not all cops are like this but there sure are plenty of them. If they are going to be role models they'd better lay off the donuts, hold in their stomachs and brush their teeth. Their coffee breath reeks! I know this because I've worked with them.
Cops should take the opportunity to be good role models. There is an awful lot of hypocrisy in this profession.

They are natural born losers with low self esteem and picking on other people makes them feel better about them selves. A cop is a cop is a cop. Roll model for playgroung bullies

Nobody appreciates the inappropriate behavior made by others about ones personal issues.

I would agree that if the officers ridiculed your friend based upon his hair color or any other issue...they were wrong.

As an officer myself, I see many things that are "different" yet attempt to be professional enough to not make comments, especially in the presence of others.

I'm certainly sorry that you or your friend had to listen to the comments!

Realize that MOST officers are professional and that we would agree with each other that the officers you encountered are not the norm!

Best wishes!

Hey! If they can't laugh at wierd freaks, who are they going to laugh at?

The cops were trying to untangle the mess created by one stupid idiot, when another stupid idiot wandered up.
