I dont think its immoral at all. as long as the people in question are sensible and dont do it foolishly.

I met my current partner online and we have been together a year and having a baby together. we love each other loads. All i can say is if you do meet people online try and get a webcam of each other so you know that they are who they say they are and agree to meet in a public place for safety of you both. All the best to people who meet others online.

If you where Amish or other religious group that thought that modern life is essentially evil then you may think it was immoral to do something the group rejects.
Every new invention has to checked if it as good or bad. When the telephone was first used in public houses the religions during that time were asking similar question. Now few group reject the telephone even some quite devout monks have telephones now.
So to sum it up - does your religious environment currently accept on-line dating - if they have no opinion then you need to ask a leader of your group to decide.
If they say no - then it is immoral
If they say yes its OK - then it fine to do on-line dating

hope you find the answer

good luck

I met my current girlfriend on Yahoo messenger when she jumped on my screen and asked me about the town I lived in .. We talked for months before meeting. No its not immoral, sad, wrong or foolish. What you need to do is be careful, because there are a lot of crazies onliine, but I think its better then any bar. Try Yahoo Personals if you want a safer way to meet . With the Personals, you get to pick first from a picture, then see what their interests are and then start to communicate before you meet.

I don't think it's immoral but I think it's pretty risky. You have no idea if that cute guy sent you his real pic or not. He could be a fat old pervert getting a cheap thrill by deluding an unsuspecting girl. He could be a serial killer or rapist. You just can't be sure. This is cyber world and a lot of fantasys are lived out on here. Just be careful.

I don't think it's immoral, but I do think it can be extremely dangerous. I know couples who met online and have done fairly well. I also know other people who met someone they knew online and they turned out to be extremely desperate, clingy, and creepy. Children meeting anyone over the internet is just out of the question and completely foolish. But I would advise against it.

why on earth would it be immoral? You have to be wary of people looking for sex or trying to scam you but it certainly isnt immoral. People on the internet are mostly law abiding, normal people, a minority have ulterior motives.

It would be foolish to date on the internet without being wary and on your guard, but i think you should be on your guard a little at the beginning of ANY relationship whether you met them online, in a bar or on the bus!

It USED to be considered sad to go to a dating agency or date online but frankly i met my husband online and we are blissfully happy (most of the time lol). I'd be a LOT sadder if i hadnt met him!!

No, there is nothing wrong, if you're the good intentioned one. Be very careful on what you say about yourself, where you live ect. Be patient, don't rush into anything. & make very sure you can trust the person before you meet them. Caution is the best answer. It would be nice if we could meet the right person in real life, but that seems to be becoming harder & harder these days!

I don;t think it is immoral but I do think it could be VERY dangerous. There are a lot of weird characters out there and you really have no way of checking who you are contacting.I would strongly advise to stay away from it.

I don't think its immoral. But i do think that its pretty lame and sad. It takes a lot of the fun out of dating.
