Their target market (not audience) are the same people they've targeted all along. Namely: People who don't know a lot about photography, but still want to take pictures.

By creating easy to load film cameras and easy to develope prints, Kodak make photography available to the ordinary consumer. Before Kodak, people needed darkrooms and chemicals and lots of equipment and knowledge of chemical reactions etc... Mass production also made taking pictures affordable.

When digital first arrived, Kodak almost went under. They countered with the Advantix camera in an attempt to keep people using their photo/chemical process. When it was obvious that digital wasn't just a fad, Kodak decided keep its finger in the game by jumping on the digital band wagon.

They created print papers, Picture kiosks, cameras, batteries, software and lots more.

They lost tens or thousands of jobs, but they seem to have survived the transition to the digital age.
