Usually you want to remove the wall paper. While you can paint over it, it will look just like that is what you did. If you are planning on selling your home, this is not the best idea. You really need to decide whether you want the wall painted or papered. If you want it painted you really do want to paint the Sheetrock.

I do it all the time, if it's a solid color just paint, if it's a print use kilz first. It's expensive but a quart should do as it is very thin. Do not over saturate. If you do paper will bubble but when it drys it adheres back to wall mine did. Let dry thoroughly before painting.

I agree with the 2nd answer...DON'T DO IT. It will eventually come off, then your walls will look crazy. Believe me, this happened at my mother's house, but luckily my uncle is a painter. Do you have any friends or relatives that are painters? Ask them to help or give you ideas. If not, go to home depot (or similar store) & get suggestions from people in the painting departments.

I wouldn't: in time it will show through and lose it's appeal. Use "Diff" from Home Depot and follow directions for removal of paper, then seal with "Kilz" use the non smelling water base primer. Good Luck

You can paint over wallpaper, but not sure how well it will turn out. And when you do try to remove that wallpaper; it will be next to impossibe once it has been painted.
