Within the next 3 months I will be moving out of my parents house. I'm 18 and I need to know what I can do to save money and such. Would I qualify for food stamps? Would I get any other benifits for being out on my own at age 18?
Also, once I move I will not be under my folks health care plan anymore, but I desprately need this because I take medication. Is there any cheap health insurance for teens or is there a way I can get my medications for cheap without it?
Any other tips you have would be most appreciated.

I'm not wanting to move out because I hate following rules or anything, my parents just want me out lol. I'm not a bad kid, they've just done that for all my siblings... once you turn 18, you hit the road.
And I do have a job, I make about 450$ a month.

You need to contact social services in your area.
It all varies with the area.
Unless there is a really good reason, I would stay with your parents.
I don't consider reasonable parental rules a good enough reason to move, but abuse is a good reason.
My medical/dental is over $400 a month.

I hope you're still in school - because $450 a month is only part time pay.
You can always apply for welfare and food stamps - you might qualify, you might not. Same for Medicaid - that's effectively welfare health insurance.
Assuming you're going to graduate from high school and get a full time job, keep in mind the job isn't only about pay - many employers will also offer you health insurance as part of the job. And that's the CHEAPEST way to get your own health insurance.
A private policy is going to cost you $200 a month. You flat out can't afford that with a $450 a month income.
Other tips: Join your local freecycle group. See if there's an Angel Food Ministries in your area, or SHARE program (both have low cost groceries). DON'T start using credit cards - they're the path to financial disaster. Keep to a bus until you have saved enough cash for a cheap car - it will be cheaper to insure than a new one. And there's a GREAT yahoo group called BudgetHomemaking, lots of great tips there.

Use the next 3 months to find a good job with benefits. If your plan is to go to college, then you can usually stay on your parents health insurance until you complete undergraduate school. FIND A JOB!!! If you don't have insurance that covers your medications, most drug companies have an "indigent assistance" plan which gives free medication to those who can't afford it. Your doctor will probably have to fill out the form. Check the website of the company that makes your medications.
You make $450 a month??!! You need to find a different job that pays a heck of a lot better if you want to be able to live on it. Is this a full time job that we're talking about for $450 a month??? And yes, you may have to work overtime or work two jobs to make ends meet.

You may qualify for state insurance. Your parents will probably help guide you, and if you are not ready, they probably aren't going to show you the door on your 18th birthday, unless you've been really rotten. Ask your parents to help you open a savings account, then get a better job, and get direct deposit on your paychecks. Then write up a budget. List all of your potential expenses, including rent, electricity, water, cable, trash removal, clothes, groceries, car payments, gas, car registration and maintenance, and any other needs. When you turn 18, if you are responsible, apply for one store credit card. I suggest Walmart or Kmart, because they have a wide range of things that you will need, from sheets to tires. This will help you build up good credit if you follow these two rules: Never go over 50% of your credit limit, and pay off your balance completely every month. Never pay the minimum due, even in an emergency try to pay at least $20 over the minimum. Make sure you include this in your budget. Don't start off your life depending on welfare programs, you won't get anywhere. Good luck!

First I would find a job, and calculate what you will make every month and then subtract you expenses from that to determine a) how comfortable you will be living or b) if you will need a second job.
Best case scenario you could find a job with health benefits, which would only be a small amt every month
i dont know about the stamps, and i dont think there are any benefits for 18 yr olds being out of the house

i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but you are screwed. You more than likely will not qualify for food stamps. When I lost my job and was pregnant I still did not qualify for food stamps. If you do get them it will be a very small amount (I think my friend who is getting them gets 60 bucks for 3 kids and herself) As far as healthcare, you are also screwed. You definately wont get medicaid unless by chance you are knocked up. Your best bet would be to ask about benefits at work and if they do offer any, it is probably very expensive and most insurance you have to pay a certain amount into it before you can actually use it. I would stock up on meds and go to the doctor (and the dentist) before you move out.

Once you move out you will appreciate living at home with parents. Check will manufacture of medications they have programs to get meds cheaper for those who qualify, your Dr. can get you the information.
Don't get a credit card, save up money for things you want.
Bills are usually add up more the expected so watch spending.

Well moving out is waaaaay more expensive then you may calculate initially. Trust me. Food stamps? Do you even have a job? Why would you move out and not have enough money for food?
You can search the net for many many different health care plans. There are a lot to choose from.
One piece of advise, stay home as long as you can.
