you saw eachother one night and hit it off instantly, she was still upset about catching her x cheating and you listened to her. You drove her home and ended up holding her till she slept. you are both extrmemly attracted to eachother, but because of 'guy code' (you are friends w/her x) you feel you cannot pursue her. Would you still think about her later in life?

Well, been there done that. I slept with my husbands friend (before we were married) and they are no longer friends because of it.
So, you need to ask yourself, do you want to risk losing a friend for her?
It also would depend on the "Get back together factor" high or low with the x?

You are making a mistake, I had the same thing happen to me 38 years ago. Go get that girl by all means, don't worry about the friend thing. He is history, you may miss out on the best that come your way in your life, I did and I have always regretted it. Go for her now man. G

WTF is this crap about a "guy code"? Do you think the cavemen sat around a square table creating the "guy code" for future generations? Just go ahead and do her- in 5 years she won't like either one of you so what do you have to lose? I am fairly certain you violated your "guy code" when you held her in your arms all night long. What a load of S**T that is.... I would have hit it for sure!
