With over 40 authors, written over a 1500 year span, written by Kings, peasants, philosophers, fishermen, statesmen, scholars... from prison, from the wilderness, while travelling, in a palace, in the military, in a dungeon. Written during war, during peace, during different moods, from 3 continents, in 3 languages. Subject matter includes hundreds of controversial topics. Yet, the biblical authors speak in harmony and continuity from Genesis to Revelation. There is one unfolding story. God's great plan of redemption for man. (and man's habit of ignoring and separating himself from God.)

The old testament was translated into Greek in the 200s BC (called the Septuagit). Many copies were dispersed around the world. The Dead Sea Scrolls date back to between 200 BC and 100 AD. These scrolls have been discovered throughout the 1900s and contain most of the Old Testament, including many chapters and books. Comparisons with the 2000 year old scrolls, proved to be word for word identical.

"Truth", do you mean "trust"?
Because you are fairly correct in what you describe. And add to that: the Bible has been dissected and examined by more scholars than any other document ever recorded in history-yet it stands.

Oh dear.

Harmony and continuity? They don't even agree as to how Adam and Eve were created. Do you have a different version or something?

And speaking of versions, the oldest extant texts show a lot of variations. That's part of the reason why accuracy-obsessed scribal traditions developed. What you're reading is a committee decision on a definitive Hebrew version that was translated in English via another committee decision.

And don't get me started on how thoroughly the Christian writers have misinterpreted Hebrew texts. The only continuity between those traditions is in the fervent Christian imagination.

I would find no suprise at all that a group finds the "Bible" "Accurate" that is why they remain a "group". They simply share a common belief and a common goal to "follow "Gods" word as They interpret it.

Civilizations throughout history have done the very same thing, the deviation has been Far Outside of Christianity or recent recorded "religions".

"Authenticity" of an ancient document is fine; however, claiming the documents originated from "God" are a different story as they would then tend to nulify any other know religion of belief others may have; this Intolerance is what is Intolerable.

It was man alone who created the very concept of a singular "God"; after the "Old testimate" held little water, a new "God" was created whom was nicer and cooler than the old mean God....sound about right?

Whom is man to claim such things as it places responsibility for "good and bad" on God obsolving man of any responsibility.

Biblical authors Do Not Speak in Harmony, they speak in vague loosely interpreted language not to far away from Nostradamus. Many simple words of that era are twisted to help modern Churches reach thier selfish goals of maintaining a Parish and "spreading the word" As They See it. One word, Armagedon, was writen as it was intended, as a revalation to show moral lessons clearly; Armagedon translates litteraly to "Revelation" to Reveal. It never meant "Doom" as religions teach today.

The language of 2000 yrs prior has changed from modern usage.

Man has no redemtion to speak of and there is no separation from "God" as Chrisitianity preaches; "God" is far removed from Chrisitianities highly limited interpretation of what "God" is /can be/ or should be/ or will be. The limitations, man can interpet "God" are loosly written in the text of literally hundreds of ancient Documents; bind them into a book and you have a mega religion; Christianity is a good lesson on morals alone, it does not own "God" nor does it have any right to interpret "God" and sell "God" as a product in Sunday school.

Thank "God" :) for separation of Church and State,

Your blog states that Man ignores "God"; yet you fail to see that man chooses his own way to interpret "God" and it need not be "Christian" in nature; you inference is clear, we must all see it your way or it's the highway; this is the Intolerance prior mentioned. Time and again Christianity is interpreted as Litterally the word of "God"; such arrogance and ignorance blinds of self awareness and self reliability and self responsibilites to each Man besides you; it is not man that separates "God" by devine creation and priveledge, it is an attempt by religions alone to do this as they choose to teach "what God is, what God thinks, what God wants and so on and so forth.

You did not mention the 2,300 copies of the New Testament that date back to before the time when COnstantine alledgedly rewrote the NT, but are word for word identical to what is used today.

You have not mentioned to work of Sir William Ramsey, knighted for his innumerable contributions to archeology, qn atheist who set out to prove the Bible to historically inaccurate, and instead converted himself to the Christian faith. In over 40 years f trying, he failed to disprove a single historical fact of the Bible.

There is no historical or literary reason to question the accuracty and authenticity of the Bible.

There are a lot of religions, and they all have their own scriptures, the validity of which is always based on faith.

There is no need for religion to pretend it's science. Science requires evidence and continual re-evaluation; religion requires faith and dogma.

They both deal with forms of understanding that humans want; but they deal with two different aspects of understanding in two different ways.

You can also mention that many hundreds of rulers and civilizations have tried to ban and wipe out the bible and Christianity, but not one have even become close to successful. It keeps coming back because people know in there heart that it is the true word of God.

If these people are not going to read the bible they are not going to read "Evidence That Demands a Verdict". By the way you should cite your sources, Josh may get you for plagiarizing.
