after i tested positive for cocaine i had my doctor send me for another drug hair test and still tested positive for cocaine i 'm not on any meds so what the heck is going on with my body. how is cocaine in my hair? i've never seen cocaine other than in movies .i'm so worried about my health now .and i needed that job my husband might leave me because of this and try to take our kids he say he belive me but we have been getting into little fights for about two weeks now if you know anything that can help me please help my family just might be falling apart because of this. i dont use drugs i'm not around drugs don't know anyone who is please please help me.

**PS you would have to eat a whole bag of poppy seeds to throw off the test and many tests have discerned a way to differentiate between poppyseeds and opiates, plus the poppy seed problem is found mainly in urine samples and not hair samples. read the article.**

Do you eat alot of poppy seeds???? Popy seeds are an opiet like cocaine. A false positive means that something came up in the test that was along the lines of cocaine but they could not determine if it was or not. You could ask your doctor to do a blood test they are a bit more acurate. Im not sure what you would need to do to flush it out of your system, either way it will stay in your hair. Have your husband go with you to the doctor and let the doctor explain this to him. He should not leave you if you have done nothing. Good luck hun, this situation is horrible. (My husband also did not get a job for the same thing and we argued for a long time over it).

Possibly you absorbed some powdered cocaine through your skin, it could have been on a bill or a table.
And to the Poppy Seed idea people are giving. POPPIES ARE OPIUM STOP BEING RETARDED! OPIUM IS A DEPRESANT AND COCAINE IS A STIMULANT THAT COMES FROM COCA LEAVES!

That's strange have you been taking any antibiotics lately? I know they can produce false positives also.
Also if you have a kidney infection (kidney disease), liver infection (liver disease), or diabetes, they can produce false positives. The topical anesthetic lidocaine.
And also taking Amoxicillin or drinking tonic water.

Do you eat a lot of things with poppyseeds? A drug test will come back positive for cocaine if you eat poppyseeds.

Why don't they take a blood test? Seems like that would be more accurate. I've never heard of a hair test. Except for DNA.

Did you eat anything with Poppy seeds...bagel etc.? Poppy seeds have been known to throw off drug tests...just as Goldenseal throws off marijuana.
