Christians can believe the Da Vinci Code but they choose not to because even the author says the book is fiction.

IT goes against their beliefs, but the Da Vinci Code actually has some truth to it, but the majority is false.

It's a work of fiction, it's not supposed to be believed, just like the "Lord of the Rings" or "Star Wars". In my opinion it wasn't even a piece of good fiction, since all it really did was crib from the 80's book "Holy Blood/Holy Grail", which was based on information that was later proved to be a hoax, as was the Priory of Sion.

Because it goes against what the eyewitnesses of the events surrounding Jesus tell us what happen. It would be like believing the media reports of an event over a group of people who were there and experienced the event. IT is a well written book with a good story, but not true!

The Davinci Code is another attempt to do away with God's Truth & His Written Word. It is pure fiction....The Christian Faith is not about finding (or suppressing) some secret knowledge or learning some long - hidden secrets about Jesus. In fact, there's no secret to it. God in His Great Love desires for each of us to enjoy a relationship with Him. He has been clear about that since the days of Moses, who said: "You must worship no other gods, but only The Lord, for He is a God who is passionate about His relationship with you" (Exodus 34:14). Try reading ...The Davinci Code (A quest for answers) by Josh McDowell & read your Bible....><> IN CHRIST <><

Because it's a work of fiction. It's a novel found in the fiction section of the book store. The author himself will tell you it's fiction.
Now I find the theories he pulled from "Holy Blood, Holy Grail" interesting but research is sketchy at best.

I read the book - rather dull really.
But I don't really have any problems with considering the possibility that Christ was married, what I do have a problem with is the rediculous "logic" that being married would somehow make Him not the son of God. How does that work? I mean, I got married, and it's crazy, but I'm still my father's daughter.
