I am a Roman Catholic. I don't believe everything the bible says, and I don't abide by religious rules and regulations(except for the obvious "thou shalt not murder" etc.), not just from my own religion but from others too although I respect them.
I have stopped going to church for many years and stopped praying. But I believe that there is a God, just that no one knows what God is like and no one living on Earth this moment will ever know until after they've passed.
I don't intend to follow my religion closely, at least for now, and if I have kids I don't intend to make them have one. Basically I feel religion is a tool used for vested interests a lot of the time.
So is what's my religious stance? I recently found out what Agnosticism is and I thought maybe I'm a type of Agnostic [Agnostic theism (also called religious agnosticism)—the view of those who do not claim to know existence of God(s), but still believe in such an existence.] but seems like I'm not.

I don't need to be preached on going back to my Catholic ways, I've never strongly believed in my religion from the start and I doubt I ever will be.
And no, the bible should not be taken word for word.

I believe you just defined your religion. Why do you have to label it. I believe in God, I don't believe in religion

You don't really have one. If you believe in God, then you would be doing as He wants you too, you would be listening and speaking with Him. You don't do either. If you are not practicing your faith, you can't claim to be a Roman Catholic, sorry to put it bluntly but it's true. If you are not doing what a RC does, then how do you claim to be one? By your works you will be known, if you have no works to show, how can you be what you claim?
If you feel religion is a tool, you are practicing it wrong. It's not meant to be a tool or used in any way. It's about a relationship with God, not how you use the church and the people in it. It sounds like you were following for all the wrong reasons. You have fallen away because your faith was not in the right place to begin with. Don't worry about what people call you, the important part is the relationship that you do not have currently. THAT is what it's all about, you coming to Him and forming a bond.

1. Wait, wait....you DO know there are religions besides Christianity and Islam, right? I'm Wiccan, and I'm fairly highly religious, say about an 8, but that's not the same as being Fundamentalist, ok? 2. 10 - a permissable and natural variation on human sexuality. 3. 10 - Discrimination in legal rights in unconstitutional.

Due to hypocrisy and cheaters in religious organizations and what to speak of mistranslations in the Bible many are becoming agnostic or atheists. The thing is though spiritually you are in a type of Limbo you as a human being are responsible for your own soul. If you want to make more spiritual advancement then keep searching out the truth. It is always available for the sincere seeker. Otherwise we are no better than the animals who simply eat sleep mate and defend as do humans . We as humans have intelligence to question our existence and find our eternal relationship with our Maker also known as Krishna, Allah, Jehovah, Vishnu, etc. It is our opportunity to search Him out and our eternal relationship. Otherwise in our next life there is no guarantee what our next existence will be (cat dog, etc) I suggest reading Gospel of the Nazirenes (the original New Testament ) before king Constantine changed and omitted so many things. google gospelofthenazirenes.co Also from a Vedic Perspective (universal) go to harekrishnatemple.co Read Bhagavad Gita as it is By Bhaktivedanta Prabhupada-tells the purpose of human life. You can know God with no question but that is up to sincerity and a deep desire to know Him. (it's a fact) keep seeking and you will find. Don't give up.

You might just be called a believer. You believe in the basics of religion / spirituality but don't believe in everything that the church states. You do not have to go to church or be part of any religion to be connected to God. I feel the key thing is to Love God, Love Others and Love Yourself.

You are a typical Catholic. Give the Bible another chance and talk with someone who you know that is well versed in the Bible. The Bible is God's word. This is all that we have to go by while we are here on Earth. God would never be so cruel as to put us here without a rulebook to play by.

You say you don't believe everything in the bible....then you must not think it is God inspired since God is perfect and if the bible is flawed then it can't be from God.....but you believe in God....without the bible what do you base your belief in God on??...I have a lot of friends and some family who are catholic. None of them have any clue whats in the bible...as a matter of fact they never take one to church, or have one during service.....the catholic church MUST educate its members on the bible....its Gods life instructions and history for us.

You're an apathetic agnostic.
It's very close to being one that picks and chooses what they want to believe. In effect, you have created your own religion, and believe in a God to your own liking. That puts you in rebellion against God, and rebellion is as the sin of witchcraft in the Bible. (But then, you won't want to believe that either.)
good luck with all that.

Religions and spirituality are separate. If you believe there is a God, then I don't see why you wouldn't be praying for guidance in the matter. God will provide a better answer than what you'll likely find in yahoo answers.
