I am single and celibate, having been widowed less than two months ago. I enjoyed the marital relationship with my husband and I do believe that sex in its proper context is a gift from God, one of His provisions for us. Because I belong to the Savior and am told to keep myself holy for His Name's Sake, I choose to not violate His instructions on fornication (see I Cor.6 and 7). Since I am grieving the loss of my husband, I am not particularly tempted anyway, but should that change at some time in the future, I trust the Lord to provide the strength I need for this part of my journey. May God bless you and keep you in your resolve.

I am now. I am a convert to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints as of a little over a year ago. I have been celebate for over a year now and will remain so until I get married. I applaud you in being one of them :D God knows it's hard but it's what is best for us and it will be well worth the wait.

This is awesome of you. I wish I could say that I were, however, I am not religious and am proudly with one man only, who comes home to me.
But I can appreciate the impact that cellibacy and even monogamy can have on this increasingly physically and mentally ill world.
You are a hero.

Good for you. Lots of people are celibate out of choice.

I was celebate and a virgin till I got married. Congrats on having "self-control". Not too many people out there can say that.

I would like to congratulate anyone who is currently celibate by choice. Personally, I am not, but I think that is a great mind set. I wish more teens would get with it until they are truly ready to be with someone else.

to each his own,
but some religions laud sex and don't consider it a weakness or a sin. Your god is nearly unique in considering sex sinful.
I'm sorry that your faith is inhibiting you from experiencing the joys of life and human relationships. But- I'm glad you find some pride in that.
But- it reminds me of a joke:
How do you make a woman celibate?
Marry her.

Are you actually wanting to know or is this just a thinly veiled attempt to lord it over all of us "heathens"? Well bravo for you sweetheart.
