She is 2 and half. I took her to the doctor this morning and they did not notice anything just by looking at her. They tested her urine and said she did not have a urinary tract infrection. She is sill in diapers and not yet potty trained. They have given her a cream to use for a yeast infection.
She complains about the area hurting off and on during the day, but at night she refuses to sit down in the bathtub. Could the soaps be irriating her. Any suggestion.

It does really sound like a uti. Did they send out urine to the lab to test it? I worked in a ped office for a while, and that was the most common complaint (they don't want to sit in the bath) when they would end up having a uti. Does she complain when she goes to the bathroom? I think the ped's office is on track though, if it's not a uti then it would more than likely be a yeast infection. I do think that the soap would be irritating. I know that if I take baths consistently (which I like to do in the winter, bubbly bath)...I have some trouble too.

I would think that it is the soap, bubble bath, or even shampoo residue in the tub after you rinse her hair. My little girl has this problem, too.

If she is having trouble with yeast, you might get an all-over diaper rash that is blotchy and red, with little "speckles" of red dots or patches outside the main rash area. She is likely to keep itching and touching the area and not want to wear her diaper. Yeast is most likely if she's had a lot of sugar and fruit juices lately, from what I've seen in my own kids.

Once, my daughter had too much orange juice and this caused her to cry all the next day when she went pee. It was just too acidic or something. Just one more thought.

Hope this helps!

It could be the soap, or even a new brand of diapers that you may be trying. Also you should consider if she is with anyone else during the course of the day. Ask her questions without implying the answer...she may be able to answer you and she may not..But I would take her back to the docters if the creme doesnt help because there is a chance that someone is molesting her. be careful with her and make sure she knows that unless someone is changing her diaper it is not ok for others to touch in that area.

My daughter is three and she did the same thing. I also took her to the doctor and he said everything was fine. We narrowed it down the soap she was taking a bath in. Also, maybe you could try letting her run around with out a diaper or put a pair of panties on if you don't mind cleaning up the mess. This will let her get air to it and maybe the diapers are causing it to hurt. Have you switched diapers or the wipes you are using on her?

It could be the soaps or it could even be the warm water. Cool the water a little more and DO NOT use bubble baths (I don't know if you do, but don't). If she still continues to complain even after a few days of using the cream take her back to the doctor and see a different one this time just to get a second opinion.

It could be the soap you are using. Try changing to another soap that is for sensitive skin. Never give her bubble bath because it could irriate her private area. Or it could be her diaper maybe you should try a new brand of diaper.

The soaps could be irritating her. If she has fallen while standing up in the bath tube that may also be why she doesn't want in the tub. Also, if she has fallen and landed on something hard, it could have bruised her a little and that could be why she is hurting. My daughter fell one time (she was also 2 years old at the time) on a basket of toys, when she landed she straddled the basket and her bottom hurt and was brusied for about a week or so.

Yes.

Stay away from bubble baths and use soap for sensitive skin. If she has been rubbing herself during the day because of itching or irritation, the water alone will sting when she sits down.

Maybe pouring cool water over her area or making the bath water cooler will help at least get her into the tub to bathe the rest of her.

I would take her back to the doctor, and ask if it's possible that she could have been molested. Is she away from you during any part of the day?

If that is not it (you are sure there is no possibility of that) maybe try asking a child counselor if they have heard of kids saying this and ask them what it could mean. Maybe it's just a phase they go through while discovering their bodies?

Or, she could have something physically wrong, besides a UTI or yeast infection. Does the area look red and irritated?

Good luck!

There is a lower intestional vioris that is hard to see fot the DRs it is calld thricamonis (not too sure if I spelled that right) but it sounds like that. My baby girl had that and at first her DR said she was ok But I knew better then on second look he said it was this. He also said that it can only be swxualy transmitted.NO in young children if some one leaves the diper on too long this can happon usealy in 2-3 year olds. Take her back and have the doc chech again or go to another one.
