Don't be scared to go running. Once your legs get warmed up it won't feel as bad. Hold off on the lunges today though. You want to give them a little rest. The soreness is just your muscles rebuilding and getting stronger. If you keep working out you wont have to worry about getting sore every time. Keep it up!!

performing some low to moderate intensity cardio will act as active recovery and help the leg muscles to recovery faster. by increasing the blood flow to the sore area more oxygen and nutrients will be delivered to the legs. remember to stretch sufficiently for 20 minutes after resistance training, this help to reduce some soreness

Even a walk would loosen up your muscles. Drink a lot of water and take a big dose of vit C, too. The reason your muscles become stiff is the lack of lactic acid - the vit C will assist in replacing it.

Never work the same body part more than twice in a week, and not on consecutive days.

If you're sore, you need rest.

Work your upper body. Arms, shoulders, even your abs. Let your legs rest for a day so your muscles can grow.

You can still work out if you are up for it. Or take a rest day if you need to.

You should take a break today and just do stretches or yoga. You need to give your muscles a break.
