Most dealerships like the one I work for offer life and disability insurance. That way if you are physically unable to work your car payments will be paid for you. Also if who ever's name is on the title dies the car gets paid off automatically.

because cars don't need to go to the doctor there is auto insurance for cars but not health insurance

Once the warranty runs out, it would be like insuring a cancer patient who just had a stroke. It would not be worth the risk -- all cars need tons of "medical" work after the warranty expires (which is why is expires when it does).

because they can't make money at it. people aren't going to sell something unless they can make a profit - and auto maintenance is a losing proposition. People would only buy it when they need a major repair.
The closest thing there is, is an after market warranty - which is EXTREMELY limited in coverage, and most people STILL don't buy them.

they do!! it's called an extended warranty. Usually purchased from the dealership..... I have this on my 2004 Ford van
