Can be a tile mural in ceramic or marble or glass tiles
Can be any image transferred onto the tiles-- like a Tuscan landscape or wine labels on individual tiles-- It's a focal point that is dramatic and low cost and oh so personal

A back splash is installed behind a sink (kitchen or bathroom) to protect the wall behind from water splashes and such. They are often made of tile or the same material as the counter top, but could be made from a wide variety of water proof materials.
