I know that nobody knows for sure. I am a christian, not a catholic but apparantly you have to be baptized to enter the kingdom of heaven. So what will happen to little old me?

Another question i have is that somebody in the form of the devil will appear on this earth (according to the bible) and we will have some sort of chip placed on us, and we will be under his spell (well thats what my stepdad told me)

He is frightening the hell out of me. Is any of this true or is he just making it all up?

Please dont think im a lunatic. I believe in jesus christ. Sometimes my stepdad will talk a little bit about the bile and what will happen when jesus comes. We has a conversation last night and he got me really scared.

Hopefully, somebody can put my mind at rest.

Well, think about your deity a little. Would he really reject you because you haven't gone through an ancient water ritual? Or do you believe in a deity would be more understanding and not care about details like that, if your heart is in the right place? Do you trust your god? If the answer is yes then don't worry.

As for the devil and the mark of the beast, it may be helpful to note that Revelations was a veiled political essay about the Fall of Rome. What it predicted has already passed.

If you dont' believe that, just try to believe that things will be okay. Things have a way of coming out all right....no matter what you believe.

first. baptizing someone is to clean off the original sin. i'm a catholic btw. and we believe that yes, you cannot enter the kingdom a heaven if you are not baptized. don't worry about this because you can be baptized any time in your life. i'm guessing you're very young, and when you will be older, you'll get the confidence to do it, and it will be more spiritual than mine was, when i was three months old. you'll be able to consciously choose Jesus, and the ceremony will be much more cathartic.
As for the devil, i haven't heard anything about being under the devil's spell against your will. just think about it, if god lives in us, and god lives by us, than the devil and evil must live in us too. So every sin and what is bad in the world comes from people. if you say no to the devil, there is no way he can put a spell on you. there is no such thing as a devil's spell. the devil has power over you if you obey him, if you let him rule you. you can't imagine the devil as a real life person, devil exists just the same way that god. god isn't a real life person, it's something transcendent, so is the devil. he manifests himself through us.
next time your stepfather is trying to scare you just think logically, and read the bible yourself, so you can be sure.
remember these:
1. god loves you, and he forgives you whatever you do, he only wishes you all the best, he's a father to you
2. you always have a choice in life, and these choices you make will define your life. god doesn't punish you, he just let's the consequences of your actions take place
3. nor god nor the devil will make you do things you don't want to, you always have a choice.
4. the sin is something you commit by knowing that what you do is a sin

I'm a non-denominational Evangelical, so I can only answer according to my beliefs.

1) Baptism doesn't save a person; it's merely an act of obedience. We are saved by faith alone, not by works (such as baptism). See Ephesians 2:8. However, obedience to God is never wrong, so if you believe, you should be baptized.

2) Prior to the 7-year Tribulation, Jesus will call to His Church (consisting of Messianic Jews and Gentile Christians) and bring them up to Heaven, where they will be protected. This is called "the Rapture" (see 1 Thess. 4:15-17, for example). Since we are not saved by baptism, an unbaptized believer will be taken, also.

3) People who are alive at the Second Coming will be separated by the angels into two piles: the sheep (people who become believers during the Tribulation) and the goats (unbelievers) (Matt. 25:31-46). The sheep will be permitted to live in the Messianic Kingdom; the goats will be cast into Hell.

4) Just prior to the Tribulation, a person referred to by the Apostle John as "the Antichrist" will come to power. He will be very politically cunning. Because of his influence, he will broker a peace treaty between Israel and the Middle Eastern nations that seek to destroy her (see Daniel 9:26-27: the Antichrist is "the prince who is to come" mentioned in verse 26). As a result of this treaty, the Jewish Temple will be rebuilt on Mt. Moriah, where a Muslim mosque is now. Half way through this 7-year peace treaty, the Antichrist breaks the treaty, enters the Temple and forceably removes its priests, stopping the sacrifices (Dan. 9:27b, Dan. 11:30-31 and Matt. 24:15). His adviser, who many call the "False Prophet" will set up a statue of the Antichrist and demand that everyone worship it (Revelation 13:14-15). Those who worship the "image of the beast" must also accept the Antichrist's mark on either their right hand or their forehead (Rev. 13:16-17).

These things are all true and will happen. However, the Bible tells us that before any of these things happen, Russia, Iran and other Middle Eastern nations will invade Israel (see Ezekiel 38 and 39, and do some research on who Magog and Persia are known to be). Ezekiel 38 tells us this invasion will happen in the "latter years." The Tribulation will come about 3 1/2 years later (but no sooner than that).

I hope this helps. If you have further questions, send me a message through Yahoo Answers.

Most of what you will read about the end times are pre-millennial views: the view that Christ's return will usher in a future millennium of Messianic rule mentioned in the book of Revelation before the final judgment. The believers of this doctrine also hold to the notion of a Rapture of the righteous beforehand.

Then there are mixtures involving the views of the seven year tribulation and whether it is happening now, occurs later, etc.

1. Amillennialists believe that God's promises regarding the end times are figurative and will not be literally fulfilled, particularly the 1000 year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth.

2. Pre-millennialists believe that Jesus Christ will return to the earth prior to His literal reign on the earth for 1000 years. Three groups of pre-millennialists include the following:

3. Post-tribulationists believe that the rapture will not occur until the end of the seven year tribulation, just prior to the beginning of the millennial kingdom.

4. Mid-tribulationists believe that the rapture will occur three and one half years into the tribulation, at beginning of the three and one half year great tribulation.

5. Pre-tribulationists believe that the rapture will occur prior to the seven year tribulation, but not necessarily immediately before the tribulation.

These doctrines all fall under the general heading known as the study of end times, or eschatology.

For explanations of the various eschatological beliefs see: http://www.religioustolerance.org/millenni.htm

I am a Amillennialist. I believe we are currently living in the Millennium and in the Tribulation period. Events described in Matthew 24, Mark 13, and Luke 21 and in most of the book of Revelation have already happened. To me the Antichrist is figurative and not a real person. I believe that the Kingdom of God is today present in the world through the presence of the heavenly reign of Christ, the Bible, the Holy Spirit and Christianity. Both good and evil continues in the world until the current Church Age ends suddenly when Christ returns to the sky above the earth. Then the Rapture immediately occurs. The Redeemed are transported to heaven where they will adopt spiritual bodies. The rest of humanity will be condemned at this time to eternal punishment. The world will be abandoned. History is no more.

I suspect you are very young... One day, when you are older, wiser - and have probably developed a cynical streak - you will begin to question all the dogmatic statements people have put to you in order to 'frighten' you into specific ways of thinking/behaving.

So don't get overawed or worried by your stepfather's comments because one day you will be able to make up your own mind.

Meanwhile, ask yourself this... if there is a super-clever, all knowing God, why did he not wait until this point in the development of human society in order to convince us of his existence? After all, complex 'miracles' would be capable of verification by the great scientific brains alive today, and would thus convince us all that a supreme being really does exists.

The introduction of the notion of 'supernatural beings' coincided with the need to control large groups when, around 7 or 8 thousand years ago, people began to settle down in one place and form societies. And what better way to control such large numbers than to make them believe in, become subservient to, and fearful of unseen, all powerful beings who were even more powerful than the tribal elders? Intermediaries of the gods (priests, priestesses, shaymen, etc.), became influential members of the tribes (even today their successors hold exhalted positions in society). Thus, long ago, there were Greek gods, Roman gods, Persian gods, etc., all as fervently believed in as the monotheists today believe in a single deity.

Incidentally, you ask what happens if you haven't been baptised? Well, I'm sure the answer is "The same as has happened to the millions and millions of humans who existed prior to 2007 years ago; namely, nothing!" So don't worry too much. Just try to be a good person while on this earth and that will be sufficient.

You don't have to necessarily be baptized. A baptism is a public announcement of what you have already done in private and that is accepting Christ in your life . If you have done that then yes you will go to Heaven. If you are not a christian when the end comes you will go to Hell (being apart from God which would have been their decision). In the end the Antichrist will come but if you are already a believer then no worries. Read Revelations in the Bible it might answer more.

For most people in the world Jesus`s divinity is just a concept and not a reality.although some religeons do recognise him as a prophet
Christianity is not the greatest religeon and has only been going as a recognised faith for about 1,600 years.give or take 50,If you believe in the antichrist that much then in my opinion you are deluded.you say that we should prove his exsistance but it is you who have to prove to us.We see nothing around us to give the slightest credence to your argument.
I your God exsists then isn`t it supposed to be all caring, all forgiving and all loving,.If your God exsists then do you think that it will help you out .
Ask yourself this.....If jesus came to save us from our sins and show the way then what happened to all the people who lived before or in ignorance of his exsistance.did they just die,go to hell or what...you tell us.
How is this chip going to be inserted?are we to all line up and get a shot? who is going to make us line up? by the time the last person gets his chip he`ll probably be dead!!
If your god exsists why did it give us this gift of cancer, child mortality, aids, war, suffering,Hitler, lukemia, strokes, downs syndrome, paraplegia, blindness and dwarfisme, seams to me your God is a bit of a sadist...think on

Dan. 2:44: “The God of heaven will set up a kingdom . . . It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite.”

Rev. 19:17, 18: “I saw also an angel standing in the sun, and he cried out with a loud voice and said to all the birds that fly in midheaven: ‘Come here, be gathered together to the great evening meal of God, that you may eat the fleshy parts of kings and the fleshy parts of military commanders and the fleshy parts of strong men and the fleshy parts of horses and of those seated upon them, and the fleshy parts of all, of freemen as well as of slaves and of small ones and great.’”

1 John 2:16, 17: “Everything in the world—the desire of the flesh and the desire of the eyes and the showy display of one’s means of life—does not originate with the Father, but originates with the world. Furthermore, the world is passing away and so is its desire, but he that does the will of God remains forever.”

Rev. 21:8: “As for the cowards and those without faith and those who are disgusting in their filth and murderers and fornicators and those practicing spiritism and idolaters and all the liars, their portion will be in the lake that burns with fire and sulphur. This means the second death.”

Sarra,
I am also not a Catholic. I do not believe in the Revelation Theory that your dad evidentally is following. Christ will come and Judge each of us according to what we have done and what our religious studies have been. I read, study, and obey GOD's WORD as closely as I can. I pray that you will do the same. satan will have NO POWER on this earth at the second coming. He will be as captive as the rest of his followers. GOD will see to that and send each of them to hell eternally. Have a wonderful weekend and do not fear what is to come.
Thanks,
Eds, A simple Christian

EDIT:
This is where Suzanne and I differ in our beliefs. There are too many examples of Baptism in the Bible for it to be a Choice. Check out:
Acts 10:48 And he commanded them to be baptized in the name of the Lord. Then they asked him to stay a few days.
Acts 2:38 Then Peter said to them, "Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
Mark 16:16 He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.
Acts 8:38 And he commanded the chariot to stand still: and they went down both into the water, both Philip and the eunuch; and he baptized him.
1 Peter 3:21 There is also an antitype which now saves us--baptism (not the removal of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God), through the resurrection of Jesus Christ.
Romans 6:3-4 do you not know that as many of us as were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into His death? Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life.
Acts 22:16 “And now why are you waiting? Arise and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on the name of the Lord.”
Galatians 3:26-27 For you are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus. For as many of you as were baptized into Christ have put on Christ.
1 Corinthians 12:13 For by one Spirit we were all baptized into one body--whether Jews or Greeks, whether slaves or free--and have all been made to drink into one Spirit.
John 3:23 Now John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there. And they came and were baptized.
Acts 8:38 He commanded the chariot to stand still. And both Philip and the eunuch went down into the water, and he baptized him.
Jesus said in Matthew 28:19 Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit
Thanks,
Eds

The devil is Ken Livingstone and his damned Oyster cards. Get christened if you worried. Apparently most people are meant to follow the devil because he tricks us as the false prophet. When he is defeated, we are supposed to be forgiven and enter heaven. Not sure about the really evil sinners amongst us though. Try not to let your step Dad frighten, you'll be ok.
