I have thought about this long and hard over the past couple of months. And, Yes, I would still follow Jesus. But I do not agree with you that those who follow him now and might now later are just concerned about themselves.

If Jesus was just a prophet then there would be no reason to be a Christian.
We, however do not need to worry about that since Jesus is The Son Of the Living God. He is Prophet ,Priest and King, He is the Promised Messiah(anointed one) The redeemer, God in the flesh.....
Forgiveness only comes through Jesus and His atoning sacrifice for the sins of the world. Yes people do forgive one another without being Christian, but God does not forgive your sin without Christs' sacrifice on your behalf. Forgiveness of sin is reconciliation to God. Which Jesus fulfilled in His life, death and Resurrection.
As to would I uphold Christian Values anyway,
Yes, these values (moral law) are written on every ones heart. Can we choose to ignore these, yes but that does not make them any less real.

Jesus was deemed the Son of God as his mother is the Virgin Mary - whether he is a prophet or not should not change your belief in Christanity as a whole.
Jesus' teachings are still aligned with the 10 commandments written by God and given to Moses on Mount Sinai. So fundamentally he was still just spreading the word of God among the common people.

There is some misunderstanding in your question.
For your question"Would you uphold Christian values if the Son of God was just a prophet". Son of God =prophet??.
Christ is the Son of God. he is also the Prophet. He is fully human and is also God. That is the Mystery of incarnation. so he is "both" the Only Son of God and also a prophet.
Christ did not leave His true nature opened for us to investigate.
look at the seven great "I ams" of St. John’s Gospel - we recall that "I AM" was the holy name God revealed to Moses from the burning bush (Ex. 3:14). It is the holy name, and was never even spoken - it was just guessed at and written as Jehovah or Yahweh. However, when Jesus pronounced it, he was claiming for himself divinity. As we look at 8:58, we find: "Truly, truly, I say to you, before Abraham was, I AM." The Jews understand what he has said, and try to kill him.
So Jesus shall say I am many times: I am the bread of life, the light of the world, the door, the good shepherd, the resurrection and the light, the way, the truth, and the life, the true vine. We notice that all of these "I ams" have to do not with his greatness apart from others or God - he is sent by the Father to seek and save the lost-- "FOR GOD SO LOVED THE WORLD," as Christ says to Nicodemus in the Garden by night , and all these "I ams"have to do with his saving work, his doing the Father’s will, since "I AND MY FATHER ARE ONE... MY FATHER IS IN ME, AND I IN HIM." (10:30, 38) and "MY FOOD IS TO DO THE WILL OF HIM THAT SENT ME AND TO FINISH HIS WORK." (4:34).
There is only one Christianity in which Jesus is Lord and God.

He was a prophet as well as the Son of God. All he predicted has come true or is coming true or will come true.
BUT,
that does not change the fact that he is God and at the sane time Jesus the Son of God and Messiah to everyone who believes.

the other aspects are in teh multiple religions around the world also, so by definition no,
I do believe Jesus to be the son of god, but I don't really follow the church and bible.
I love God, and I folow him, and if Jesus turned out to be just a prophet, I would still Follow and love both of them.

I think you misunderstand why we believe in Jesus. John 3:18-21 tells us that the purpose of accepting Jesus as Messiah is two-fold: 1) to turn from darkness (sin) to light (forgiveness of sin); and 2) to please God.
Therefore, if Jesus was "just" a prophet and not the Son of God, then He is not the Messiah and there is no need to follow Him, since 1) He couldn't take away sin; and 2) our belief in Him wouldn't please God.

Yea
But since we are all created by God, from the breath of God, and the matrix of the dust God created, we are all kindred, spirtually and biologically.
Even science agrees with that. Everything came from the primordial soup. The muck of the Earth.

Congratulations on throwing the word "selfish" at Christians. Your father, Satan, is very pleased with you. He will reward you.
The only reason we are here is for the pleasure of God. He created us and we are his. God came to us as Jesus to save us after we chose to sin.
All the things you list: forgiveness, brotherly love, kindness, charity are worthless to God unless we have accepted Jesus as our Savior. The list is an outward expression of the love you have for Jesus. It is a result of our love for God.
The real question is why are doing these things? If it is to please God and you are being led by the Holy Spirit to do so, then it is acceptable to God. If you are doing these things to be "a good person" then you will find yourself very, very dead. Hell is full of "good people."
The word "selfish" is from Satan. It is not selfish to realize that we are lost without Jesus and need Him desparately. It merely depends on who you want to please. Please your heavenly Father or please the world (Satan). It's your choice. Choose wisely.

they did a documentary on finding Jesus tomb. And did not affect my faith one tittle. But your statement is impossible it`s like saying; what if they found out that venice isn`t a city but a hoax. It`s a fact because the people there passed the info down thru history.Just like jerusalem is a city and the believers passed down legit. info. But the truth is I applied myself to the bible and I have physical results which prove to me that God is real and physical, not a fable.
