What is so sad about this whole situation is that too many children here in the States go without a family. What makes it even sadder, is that when we brought out daughter home from China, because I was "too old" to adopt here in the States, we returned with several Gay couples with Chinese Babies and that is the reason many children here don't get families. (BTW, they wouldn't let us adopt a young boy several years early because we were "Anglos." )
Don't you Christians give a damn about children having families, at all.

You want everyone to be miserable dont you? I am not a gay friendly person and adopting kids is the wrong idea for gays to even consider doing. 2 people of the same sex hugging and kissing each other like a heterosexual married couple will have the kids believing that being gay is okay, when its not. I hate Rosie Odonell, Ellen, Wanda Sykes etc. How are you going to call another woman you so called "wife' its not natural. Its not even human like. Why lie to your kids? All of their kids will be lesbians or sissies and confused as a bat.

Simple predjudice.
A had two friends, one is agnostic communist, the other is educated psudo-jewish, both come for Semite Psudo-Jewish famlies. They couldn't make a baby and had problems adopting and I asked about them taking on a black or Chinese baby and YOU should have HEARD the SEGUE from these LIBERAL, BERKELY UNiversity, pot smoking, free sex on the pool table give me a lecture on CULTURAL SHOCK.
The tone was BLACK BABIES are for BLACK PEOPLE
Boy what a WAKE UP CALL from LIBERAL THINKING BERKELY UNIVERSITY, DEAD CONCERTS ON THE GREEN, JEWISH BOYS and GIRLS!
Both had a BA Degree
My eyes went wide.
Yeah, I'd probably be in MORE cultural shock than my BLACK adopted son or daughter who embraced the black culture I am not used to being white bread.
But one must admit there would be a factor when you tell a black adopted son or daughter that you, a cracker, decided to adop them and make them family.
Homosexuals would face the same cultural shock and the suprising thing about them is their liberalizm.
One day little Johnny or Susie would ask, why are Jim and Judy's parents male and female and you two are both (MALE or FEMALE) and the homosexuals would have to expalin it to them.
And explain that they CHOSE to take the child and make a family.
They'd ALSO have to expalin the VIEWS the rest of the world has on them.
The child can easily live with this, it's the rEST OF THE WORLD that can't
This subject was tackled EXCELLENTLY by Tracey Ullman and her writer-producer James Brooks when they created the little braces 14 year old girl who lives with her father and his male spouse
I especially liked the one where she went to work at Taco Taco and the hispanic manager talked about Mericons when he saw the two men and she said
I don't speak Spanish, but you better have just said those are the two nicest people I've ever seen!
Just before she quit and leaves with her family.
It's all about love and family
Hetro men who sexaully abuse their daughters and step daughters happern far more than homsexuals who adopt. Far more.
Homosexuals often have a very high code of ethics.
They just have a very strange way of living, at least from the hetero perspetive.
That doesn't make it wrong, just different.

Most objections to same-sex marriage seem to be rooted in religious faith or prejudice and defy proof or disproof.
However, opponents of same-sex marriage do invoke one line of reasoning that can be confirmed or refuted by evidence.
That argument concerns children, and rests on two related contentions: First, unlike heterosexual couples, gay couples generally do not raise children and therefore do not need the benefits of marriage. Second, to the extent that gays do raise children, they do the children harm.
As it happens, the best available evidence shows that both arguments rest on fantasies and false stereotypes.
The proclivity to raise children is neither automatic among mixed-gender couples nor off-limits to same-sex couples.
The 2000 U.S. Census showed that in California, half of married couples and one-third of gay couples are raising children. (The latter figure is 28% if limited to one's "own" children — a census term that includes biological, step and adopted children — but climbs to 32% when unrelated children, such as foster kids, are included.) More than 70,000 children in California are being raised by gay couples.
What about the notion that children raised by gay parents suffer as a result? This too turns out to be unsubstantiated.
The American Academy of Pediatrics' Committee on Psychosocial Aspects of Child and Family Health issued a report in 2002, the most recent comprehensive review of gay-parenting studies. It found no meaningful differences between children raised by gay parents and those raised by heterosexual parents.

You do like opening the Worm-can, my Dear One. I really see no difference in hetero or homosexual homes. Just so those children are loved and cared for. Truckinotter and I would have loved to have raised my brother-in-law's two children when he was forced 12 years ago to go into a long rehab. He, because his sister was "gay", gave guardianship of the little ones over to their (still) drug-using mother and the children have had to suffer through years of mental abuse and neglect. If he'd left them with us....*sigh*.
A home is a home, provided children know love and are cared for.

Those that would oppose gay adoption believe it is far better a child not have a place to call home, or know the loving embrace of a family... go figure.

some people oppose gay adoptions because they assume gays are pedophiles, and because they are gay they cant possibly know how to raise a child, religious reasons also come into play, the"marriage is between man and woman"mentality, which also makes people believe only hetero couples are capable of raising children, all reasons are ridiculous and silly.

They oppose it out of ignorance and vanity.
They have no right to force their religious agendas onto those people who wish to adopt children into their unconventional-but-constitutionaly-protected loving family relationships. What's worse, there is certainly no shortage of children who need good families- and these people would rather have them grow up in orphanages and foster care than for them to have loving gay parents.

Apparently they want these children to never have a home and just be shuttled around the horribly screwed-up foster care system. It certainly seems that way to me.
Oh, and by the way, single people can adopt.
