First we need to know if you are serious. Second we need to know if the nature with which you were born with has been radically executed and you have been radically infused with the Spirit of God. Third, you need to pray where to go and if necessary fast along with that choice. I will give you a suggestion but everyone else will do the same. That is why you need to accomplished the first three things in your life, so you will not end up at a church Satan wants you to go to.
My suggestion is to visit a, "church of 'GOD''', (affiliated with the Anderson Movement).

You do not choose a church. If God has placed a call on your heart to follow after Jesus Christ; then you need to pray that he give you spiritual guidance about what you should do. If you are a Christian you don't "go" to a church, you "are" the church.
When the Lord chooses you He starts to lead you in the path you should go. If you are choosen of God and elect, even your path in unbelief has some order to it. That is a long way of saying that the fellowship, of believers you need to be with, may be very near to you.
The only right place for you is the one which God picks. If we don't have the spirit, or we do not know how to let the mind of Christ live in us, then are heads are usually full of ideas about what 'We' should do and how we should find 'Our' way..
Most of us have tried the yellow pages or something like it. It is just as well to pray for guidance. If you close your eyes and run your finger down the yellow pages you could end up on cigarettes, which often follows right after church.
In looking for a place to worship, in a new town for temporary visits, I have driven by various churches early enough to catch people coming in for Sunday School and first service. Sometimes what you see going on with the youth and adults will tell you to move on.
I have found attending smaller churches and fellowships is usually more of a blessing in many ways.

I think a good way to search for churches today is through the Internet. Many churches put their mission statement, faqs, church programs and all sorts of information on their web sites.
But after choosing a church to VISIT, its by prayer and thought (and sometimes a great deal of time) that you should choose a church to faithfully attend and serve at.

I would suggest a non denominational charismatic church or a Church of God...You will learn in these churches how to let the Holy Spirit lead you and hear from God...plus since you are younger, you will really enjoy the services.

most ppl attended the churhces their families went to .
I attened mine for about 18 years.
Im looking for one based on the values i have of
logic and fairness. They must also be sensitive to modern day values and the teachings of jesus.
basically:
Watch out for churches the spew religious dogma and believe in old time values.
best example: women are men's "help meet"
men are heads of society.
Children have no rights.
beware of churches that are very restictive of how an individual wants to live thier life.
ex: You must only go to churchs "like this one".
"They" arnt real christians ( ir reference to other Believers)
Realize whatever church you join is the church whose values you'll have to accept. So whichever one you find, make sure you really support and feel okay with it. Not just the preaching but overall atmosphere. If you decide to differ, expect some nay sayers and even accusations.

So, you're going to let the process of just "picking out" a church choose how you will live your life, whether it's the truth or not? Why not do thorough research before jumping into a life-changing situation?

What I did, was find several churches within a reasonable distance from my home, and then I tested them out. I joined that I felt most comfortable with, or the one that just felt right.

First of all any church that preaches that JESUS is the son of GOD and came to earth and died for our sins and rose again and when we believe in him we shall be saved is a true chruch.read 1 John 4:1-3
That should narrow ur search.
Then pray to GOD about.Ask JESUS.
Ask some of your friends in neighbourhood.or school friends.
John 3:16 says "For GOD so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whoso ever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life".Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with his blood.
With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.
