Personality disorders are caused by poor parenting. God has nothing to do with it. And some of them can be treated. They are not treated because insurance and social systems do not want to pay the money to do it. It take a long time to treat. The only one that is not treatable is Anti-Social Personality Disorder. If you have no conscience by a certain age, nothing can be done. One can learn to act like a normal person and understand that there are negative consequences for bad acts but that is the best we can do for them. The answer is to take children from the parent as soon as it is seen that the parent can not raise that child correctly.
I have had clients that had a Personality Disorder. It is a sad thing to see someone's potential for a good and happy live so destroyed by the terrible things that happened to them as children. We need to do more to be sure that every child is wanted, love and nurtured in an environment that helps them to grow into a healthy human being.

I have a diagnosed personality disorder (at the mild end of the spectrum, thankfully) as well as treatment resistant depression, and I have never believed that God/the Gods gave it to me. I simply had the bad luck to (a) be born into a bad family situation and (b) to have a physiological disposition toward responding badly to that kind of stress.
Why do I suffer, sometimes in agonizing emotional and mental torment? Perhaps this lifetime is a learning experience for me. Perhaps I am paying some kind of karmic debt. Or perhaps life is simply full of probabilities and I had several unlucky rolls of the dice. In any case, I am less concerned with the question of WHY I suffer than I am with the question of HOW to suffer less, through the application of cognitive behavioral techniques, medication, and spiritual activities.

God does not force upon some people disabilities...we choose as we came into the world many of these twists for our life story.
Both physical and personality disorders do not affect the soul.

What makes you think God - what/whoever that means to you - has anything to do with disorders, whether human or natural? If God is responsible, is God also responsible for health, goodness, etc. In other words, why associate (or blame?) God with only what is negative from our human point of view and not also what is positive. For example, is it a positive thing that God (assuming God has anything to do with anything in the first place) has kickstarted, and possibly even continues to sustain, a universe in which humans have the ability to ask the question in the first place? And not only to be able to ask the question, but to do something to alleviate the negative consequences of being alive in the first place? Thanks for making me think about something that puzzles me too.

I'm offended at how some of these people see people suffering from personality disorders! We are degenerating? To make the world interesting? They get a "get into heaven and out of hell free card"?
So you think that these people we created for your enjoyment, are proof of degeneration and have it easy? Another great example of Christians standing up for human equality and dignity.

I don't know, but my best guess would be that personality disorders are a test for those who have them - a test to overcome - just like the death of both parents for a young child would be a test (and would affect who you are as a person and soul).
Additionally, everything affects who we are as people, who's to say a personality disorder is the worst that can happen? I'd rather have one than lose my parents or husband.

Life is continuous birth after birth.
That is the reason every religion emphasizes on good deeds.
Every deed fructify. Some in this birth others in future births.
In present birth some deeds of previous births fructify.
Emphasis on doing good to others relieves pain.

It's one of the side effects of the fall of man. I'm not saying it's the fault of the individual, just that if there had been no fall, we would all be healthy mentally as well as physically.

Contrary to popular beliefs, God does not give us disabilities, stumbling blocks, tests, disorders etc.
We are all susecptible to birth defects, disorders, diseases, etc because we are all born into sin.
