I wake up the next morning (YES i slept from 11 am till 6 am the next morning almost 24 hours of much needed sleep)I check my voicemail and i had a messgage from someone at Target saying I was supposed to be at work at and to return the call. What do I say!?! I honestly forgot I was supposed to work that day, cuz at Target the change thte shedule around different days and different hours, it does get confusing but Im sure my boss wont' believe that but it's the truth.

The only thing to do is tell the truth and hope he understands.

My 2 brother in laws had problems with Target changing schedules so much ... They often check before they leave work to make sure and sometimes they call to make sure ...

Just honestly tell your boss that you're in school and were studying for exams and was not aware of the schedule changes because no one has called you in advance ... And you fell asleep after your final exams ... And you're very sorry and that you'd like someone to call you in advance if there's a change in schedule.

Good Luck!

Oh, I can understand! They change the schedules at my job all the time too, I haven't yet forgotten but it does get annoying and confusing when work schedules are changed so much. Tell your boss how busy you were with your finals and then how tired you were, and that you really hadn't realised the schedule had changed again. Most bosses are pretty understanding when it comes to final exams, much more so than when it comes to parties anyhow :)

When you have a job with schedule changes like you described it is your responsibility to check regularly to see who is scheduled to work that day.I could not handle the changes and concentrate on school too.I am a supervisor and i would understand.Just tell them what you told us.Everything should be fine.

Absolutely call and explain. If you don't call, they will assume you lost interest in your job.
Hopefully they will be understanding at this very stressful time for a student. You might get some ribbing, but at least you will keep your job.

When in doubt, be honest.
Be honest all the time, as a matter of fact.
A sincere apology is in order - and sticky notes everywhere to remind you where you have to be and when.

Be honest and tell them what happened. Be sure and apologize before the story and after the story. That should do it.
